The Knightly order of Gentlemen Dragonslayers

    The Knightly Order of Gentlemen Dragonslayers has a well-defined hierarchy. With the Grand Master at the top followed by the head professor, then the rest of the teachers. Each class has two representatives and up to 17 student dragonslayers. There is also The Lord Smith, which follows his own rule sets and will have two apprentices, no more, no less!

The Knightly Order of Gentlemen Dragonslayers has a set of strict rules and guidelines that every member has to follow with few exceptions.  

The Five Commandments of The Knightly order of Gentlemen Dragonslayers

    Thy shal not skip class unless on mission   One must always wear thy helm and armor as to prevent the dragonification of thyself   Thy armor and helm must be such that one can never misinterpret who thy is   Thy must always notify one classmate of where thy is headed if leaving the order grounds   Thy must never take full credit of one dragon kill, such is forever a team effort   Thy must always must always buy a round too the lads when they pay for another     These are the six five commandments of The Knightly Order Of Gentlemen Dragonslayers.

The Knightly Order of Gentlemen Dragonslayers has a variety of different assets to their disposal, first and foremost is the Manley Estate, a large Villa-turned fortress school situated close to Borvakazh. The Manley Estate is large enough to host a garrison of 80 men and 40 servants in addition to the occupants, of course, most of this space has been converted to classrooms, dorms, training halls, and other essentials to the dragon-slaying business.   The Manley Estate is however not the only Property The Knightly order of Gentelmen Dragon Slayer command, They have at least one building in every sizable town in Wissland for the dragonslayers to use as headquarters when they are out hunting dragons.   The Knightly Order of Gentlemen Dragon Slayer also owns a small fort at the Demic Wissland border, this is the only other building other than the Manley Estate that is permanently garrisoned.  

Economics

The order has a few different revenue sources, first of is the entry fee from each recruit, there are around ten new recruits each year and each must pay up to 1800 gold at entry with few exceptions this is to pay for the armour they will be getting and to pay the Order for their exclusive education.   There is also the sales of services and goods. Most missions undertaken by the order come from clients that need someone to take care of a task, most often it is get rid of beats or dragon of some kind. The average price paid for these quests is around 200 gold. The order is also selling the things they bring back from missions but don't need, such as an old sword or odd trinkets. Smithing service is also sold to travelers that need a quick fix while they overnight at the Estate Inn. The Estate is located right beside RosRoad and therefore gets a decent amount of visitors.   Bustar Manley also inherited a large amount of gold with the Estate, at this point most of it is used up to buy land and buildings around Wissland, but a sum of 80,000 gold still remains.

The Knightly Order of Gentlemen Dragon Slayers was founded in 4E1131 by Bustar Manley shortly after he inherited the Manley Estate from his uncle George Manley. He soon recruited his butler later to be known as Professor Tea Pot and the three closest servants into the order. These four and Bustar were known as the founding five. Bustar opened the order for recruits in late 4E1143, and the first fully trained and knighted member was Professor Lion in 1155. Since then the order has grown steadily with recruits coming from all over the known world.  

The first artifact

  The original reason for the founding was because dragons were proven to exists via an artifact that was found in the Estate basement. The Artifact has been named "The Dragon Lure", a fist-sized round object with a needle made of real dragon bone that Bustar determined will point towards the closest dragon. The order has since then been searching far and wide to collect and store artifacts and literature related to dragons, both for research and to protect the people from such dangerous items and information.  

Dragon Sickness

  in 1165 The order found a very old temple dedicated to dragons, within which they found depictions of man-dragons, with further studies they concluded that this must mean dragon is a sickness, every dragon was once a human. In Light of this, the order started taking precautions and created rules that prevent anyone from showing body and face to anyone both within and outside the order. because of the strict rules, the order enforces no one has been infected so far!

The Members of The Knightly Order of Gentlemen Dragonslayers are highly educated as expected of such an exquisite organization. Every member is taught to read and write, as well as educated in math and the sciences. But the most important classes are the Arts of Dragonslaying.   There are a number of mandatory classes, every student must pass the following classes to become a Knight of the order:

• Reading and Writing
• Math & science
• Dragon Nature
• Various Dragon Biology
• Dragon Artifacts
• Dragon Combat & Their Weaknesses

  In addition to the main classes, there are also a set of subjects where the students must choose at least one to specialize in. The subjects for specialization are as follows:

The scholar of dragon knowledge

Taught by Professor Lady Broad Sword, Students choosing this specialization will learn everything the order knows about dragon artifacts and texts, where to find them, how to interpret texts, and solve dragon riddles.

Refined Dragon Biology

Dragon Weaponry & Dragon counter

Taught by Professor Lion the helmless and Professor Bucket Helm, Students of this class will learn all about how to handle any attack a dragon can conjure up, this is the class for the frontline dragonslayer.   There are also a few extra classes where the student cannot apply, these studies are apprenticeships directly under one of the head professors. The only way to get into these studies is if the professor selects the students themself, It is a great honor for a student to get such an offer, and only the very best will get the offer of joining one of these classes.

The Arts of the cook

This class is headed by Professor bucket helm, There are only ever four students in this class, they will learn all about how to prepare food while hunting dragons. How to disguise the smells of the food so that it doesn't alarm any nearby dragons of the paries presence. How to shield the surrounding area from the light of a fire to avoid giving off visual clues at night. And of course how to make a tasty meal.

The Librarian

Taught by Professor Lady Broad Sword, There are a total of three students in this class at any one time. The students of this class will get access to the forbidden parts of The Knightly order of Gentlemen Dragonslayers Library. This part is where the most dangerous artifacts and scrolls are located, only the best may be allowed to handle them. Students of this class will also be taught the ways of the Mage.

The Ways of the Druid

Taught by Professor Oak Blade, There is only one student of this class at any given time, any student of this class will learn to become a fully-fledged dragonslayer druid. They know the forest like their armpit and can track down any dragon from the faintest of clues.  

The Frontliner

Taught by Professor Lion the helmless, there are a total of two spots in this class, any students of this class will get to accompany the lion on missions and learn in the field how to become a proper frontline dragonslayer.  

The ways of the Smith

This is the most exclusive class of in the order, Taught by Master Smith Sevree, there is only one student at a time and it is rare for even one to be selected each year, the students chosen for this class will learn Sevree's ways of smithing, they will learn to repair damaged armor, and how Sevree makes the complicated and specialized armors of the order.
