Description

Brief Summary:   The 8th planet from sol sun. Neptune, named after the ancient Greek god of the sea, is a gas giant with a large icy surface. The planet was never played much in the history of humanity. Widely remembered by the imperium for the place the 11th legion ( later renamed the Blood Angels) to be christened in bloody hell.      

History

 

Summary

  Neptune was late to be colonized properly by humanity in the late Age of Terra. Several of Neptunes Moons were colonized before year-round colonies were established on the surface of the plane. This is due to that fact that Neptune if a gas gaint with a core of ice. This frozen ice would be a priced resource in the later stages of the Age of terra, prompting its surface colonization.   For the late stages of the era before the solar exodus, Neptune was much like that of the ancient frontier towns of old earth. But with the advent of more advanced technology such as the warp drive, Neptune proper became somewhat of a backwood.   The state of thing do not change much through the millennias. Neptune would see a uptick and revitalization in the turmoil and conflicts of the later Dark Age of Technology.   When the Sol System was cut off from the rest of the galaxy, the value of Neptunes water increased 10-fold. However, Neptunes inhabitances were not able to benefit from these as larger powers within sol exploit Neptune and its resources through military and other economic strongarming.   Neptune slowly was turned into a warzone of competing powers vying for control of its water resources.   As the Old Sol superpowers broke appart new more dangous factions rose to take control of Neptune. Several warlords over the centuries would rise and fall on Neptune. By the Imperiums Solar Reclamation, Neptune was controlled by a warband of pirates and deviants allied to the Blood Host.   As the Imperium pushed out of the Inner planets and asteriod belt, the Blood Host was on its back foot. The Emperor sent a battlegroup with the 11th to finish them off once and for all.   Unfortunately, its was a trap and the 11th was marooned on Neptune for months fighting a bloody war with mutant horrors.      

Geography & Nature

 

Landscape:

  The entire surface of Neptune was covered in thick ice sheets, very cold and dark. Wind swept. Dangerous winds.   Ammonia lakes, methane clouds are some hazards along with deep holes and uneven terrain   No trees, or planets of any kind   The planet is forever in a Haze of darkness   The surface is dotted with signes of human settlement. Although it does not take long for the strong winds of Neptune to cover small, unprotected area. Most settlement or facilities have ancient heating and wind shields that prevent the structures from becoming reclaimed by the ice.   The planet has several ancient space elevators, with several more having fallen over due to either neglect of conflict.   The largest settlement on Neptune is Nos Petrograd. Once a hive city, the modern city is but a shell of its former glory. Having weathern countless external and internal wars, the city is haunted by terrors both in the dark and light. As of the Imperial Sol Reclaimation, the City is ruled by _________ and his band of techno-barbarians. Allied to the Blood Host, _____ is acts as if he is the defacto overload of the planet. Although in reality _________ only has control of a few areas including the space elevators and the citadel of Nos Petrograd. The rest of the world is controlled by a unknow amount of mutant warbands, many of who have been converted to the dark faith of the Blood Host. This keeps the planet well in the domain of the blood host, despite the faction being more of a nomadic raiding force.    

Inhabitants

    Humans, abhumans, mutants,   Cultures of Pelasgian and Minyans ???   After thousands of years of conflict, Neptune is now home to hordes of mutants and monsters designed and primed for combat on the icy world.   Many of these creatures are monstrous abominations,
