WorldEmber Homework

While the first half of the year seemed to move slowly like molasses for me, the second zoomed by in a blink of an eye. And so, the fires of WorldEmber are ready to fire up again. But right before that, I'm doing my homework in the last moments of November.

Week 1: Pledges and goals

While it is advised to create an area of focus and pick one of the worlds, this time I've decided to do the exact opposite. At least partially. Since I've noticed that I tend to create more interesting articles when there is a story connecting them, I'll make it somewhat of a theme for this WorldEmber: stories from my worlds, short peeks into the lives, the regions, or general or detailed history.   And so, my goals for this year are:
  • To write at least 10,000 words.
  • To create at least at least 2 stories spread through various articles.
  • To try to create at least one article for each category.
  • To create images in each world's style for said articles.
  • To read more articles by other authors, especially the ones I don't know yet, and to give more comments and feedback.
  • BONUS easy goal: To have a lot of fun.

Week 2: Prepare your world

For now, I'm pretty happy with how my worlds look, and don't really have an idea of what to change with their homepages, CSS, and primers.

Week 3: Inspiration hunt

1. Read a book or watch a movie

I'm always on a hunt for some new stories and ideas be it by reading books, listening to music, or watching movies/anime so I think I have this one in the park.

3. Playlist

While I don't have playlists specific to writing or each of the worlds, I have a few general ones that set me in a better mood for something related to exploration, action, or general creativity. But for the most part, I use them as a white noise, just not to work in the silence as that tends to make me more distracted or sleepy.

Week 4: Power of Friendship

As always, when it comes to contacts, leaning on or just having fun talking with other, amazing people and authors, I'll try to crawl out of writing den and talk more with fellow Cookies from Cookie Cottage Chapter.   I also have a person or two IRL who I always tend to present my ideas to before picking or tweaking the ones that will be finally created.

2. Schedule

For now, and unless something changes, I have quite a lot of free time.

3. Fresh air

Don't worry, I have my doggos that won't let me skip out on some fresh air.
