Gilmithiën, lady of the animals, sent her first sentient species down to Aframir, as she envied Ranién for being the sole controller of the dominant species. The dwarves were given the peninsula of Merdan, and Gilmithiën gave them skills the humans were struggling to master, such as mining.

The myths tell that Gilmithiën stole a human subject as a sample to her creation, since she did not know how to create sentient species. However, because Gilmithiën took a child, the Dwarves were destined to be forever the size of human children. The moment of the birth, a great dread fell over mankind, for they were at this point not the only ones on Aframir to be supreme, and this feeling of inferiority envoked rage in them, sometimes clandestine, sometimes boiling over so much they sinned without limits, with it ultimately leading to the destruction of Tordisti.
