University of Nyx

The University of Nyx was intended as a meeting place for scholars around Aimane to exchange information, tales, history, discoveries, data, relics, manuscripts and much more. Over time, the library has been the main location for scholars to store tomes and scrolls. It has now become the main hub of knowledge in the known world, and thousands of years of recorded history lies stored here, as well as codes, law books, descriptions of plants and animals, specimens of plants and animals, maps, poems, stories, artworks, religious guidelines and much more. besides this vast collection, the universitry is still the most important intellectual meeting place, hosting daily debates in philosophy by the greatest philosophers of Kur-Horia, the rest of Helioth and others who've come from all over Aimane to participate or observe and record. researches also meet here to share and discuss their findings. Besides all this, it is required for any form of scientific research that is performed in Helioth to have it ratified by the University of Nyx. While not required, virtually every meaningful scholar in Aimane sends their research proposal to the University to have it ratified, save for scholars of derendor and Etaliron, who are too far away. Only about a third of them submits proposals to the University. What Nyx does with the proposals is read them, and decide wether the research is a valuable addition to knowledge about the world as a whole. besides that, they decide wether the reseach is not too dangerous by evaluating wether it complies to the tasks of Aminduis. many researches that are submitted are of an archeological nature, a biological nature, or involve expeditions into the east. On an average day, the University of Nyx could find research proposals for the collection of artifacts in an Aerin ruin, a biological study of an apex predator that lives around the northern edges of the Kodar, and for an exploration of an ancient Mirvanian village close to the eastern border of Herak.

The University was founded while having the ownership over a corner building and a particularly symmetrical square, surrounded by three identical buildings forming a city block in Kur-Horia; the other two buildings were taken over by the university as it grew, and the alleyways that used to freely give passage to the central square were blocked off with sturdy walls, eventually turning it into a courtyard.
