Basic Information
Growth Rate & Stages
Caprinae lead long lives compared to most humanoids. They reach adulthood at around the same age as humans, but can live to be five hundred years old or more. Satyrs become tough and serious as they age, losing the mischievous appearance of their youth to resemble stern grandparents and stoic leaders. Where as Faun keep their chaotic nature well into motherhood where they become more focused on raising their young and therefore being stern parental figure as more often than not fauns raise young as single parents.
However, a twinkle of trouble-making still shines in even the oldest Caprinae eyes. Though they remain small in size as children, Caprinae are capable of complex speech and movement in a matter of weeks. Young Caprinae resemble infants in size and appearance, but they speak and interact with the competence of a human adolescent.
Ecology and Habitats
Caprinae usually live in small clans numbering one to two dozen but sometimes as small as five or six. Every clan has a tartan unique to them so they can more easily identify each other.
Their homes are humble and comfortable, for although they love revelry, they enjoy the simple pleasures the most. When entering a Caprinae’s home, one finds a well-stocked pantry and a collection of fine food and drink from far-flung places. Despite these comforts, satyrs spend little time in their homes, instead preferring to dwell in the open beauty of nature.
Behaviour
Satyrs were well known for being curious and incredibly hedonistic. They were willing to go to any length to achieve their desires, giving little thought to the results of their actions, and often roped other creatures into participating in debauchery.
Similarily Fauns are very chaotic beings who like to play tricks and cause chaos. However they are naturally a lot more shy so tend to do this from the shadows or more often then not only to people they like or feel safe around. It is said you know you have a faun as a friend when you can’t find anything.
They have a natural sense of wonder regarding the world around them and the creatures with which they share that world. Though Faun are shy, satisfying their curiosity cautiously and from the shadows, they all have a burning desire to see, touch, and know more.
Despite their love of wine, song, dance, and stories, Caprinae are rarely reckless in their hedonism. In the midst of a celebration, a Caprinae maintains an awareness for danger, and they ensure that their revels do not cause the creatures they care about to come to harm.
Caprinae almost always greet every stranger as if he or she were an old friend, in the hope that such people might eventually become trusted allies.
Civilization and Culture

With their natural curiosity, it is no surprise that Caprinae seek out great adventures. They do so in their own special way, with goals that are more personal than lofty. Adventuring Caprinae, do what they do in pursuit of something they love, whether excitement and thrills, new stories and experiences, or simply material wealth. A satyr can be a boon as an adventuring companion, provided that their curiosity is aligned with their companions.

Average Physique
Caprinae look like humanoids of stout build, with fur-covered lower bodies and legs and cloven hooves similar to those of a goat.
Satyrs have ram-like large spiral horns topped their heads. They were typically seen with facial hair and wild, curly heads of hair that ranged in length. Satyrs tend to have fur in shades of blue, purple and green with matching hair and skin that is pink or tan.
Fauns don’t tend to get the facial hair of a Satyr and their horns tend to be two tiny pointed horns on the forehead instead of the large ram horns. However it has been known for a Faun to get larger curved horns but always very tight to the head. Fauns tend to have skin in human shades with fur and hair in browns and blondes while occassionally getting pink or green hair but not fur. Their ears do also tend to be longer.
