Mariasi

Mariasi are unusually patient for Djinasi and have a strong independent streak. Mariad Djinasi have a high self worth so enjoy flattery even more than other Djinasi. This leads to most opting to solve problems on their own and take a lot of time doing so rather than asking for any assistance.   At times they are like tsunamis, fierce and destructive, but usually they present a tranquil appearance despite whatever emotions run underneath their quiet surface. They tended to shift moods rapidly, as quickly as a storm upon the sea.   Mariasi collect treasures from the ocean depth making small shrines with them like treasure hoards of a dragon. They do this while hunting within the oceans which they do for food and for sport.   In an attempt to keep their society secret Mariasi would intentionally capsize vessels approaching the island if the people aboard were unknown to them.

While in seas or oceans, Mariasi usually wear scant clothing or go bare. On land they prefer colourful flowing robes or large pantaloons. Others would wear clothing made from finely woven seaweed inlaid with coral or pearls.   Both males and females enjoyed showing off their impressive physiques, so flimsy vests are usually the most clothing they wore to cover their torsos. Regardless of the style of clothing worn, it was certain to never impede swimming or be quick to remove so they can get into the water faster.
