Island of Voices
On the edge of the barren expanse there is an Island of trees and darkness. When travellers have tried to explore this Island if they have returned they are traumatised and talk about hearing voices. This is an Island of horrors that no human dare go.
Actually this is the home of Kenku and they use their mimicry abilities to scare off anyone who arrives on the island. They mimic the people they meet regardless of race and use their own voices to whisper back to them or scream in terror to horrify the intruders and scare them off before they can realise what is going on or where the voices come from.
