Changeling
Originally a race created to adapt to their environment for survival reasons.
While they usually adopt the look of elves or humans it is believed their true form are close to Saurian.
Due to their nature there is little known of their true forms and therefore a common or average description or stats of them can't be provided.
Basic Information
Anatomy
A changeling has a humanoid build some 5 to 6 feet in height, but it all depends on the preferred form they take. Some could change their height from human to halfling size or even up to the size of a Bovinae.
Behaviour
Changelings are subtle and deceptive in their ways. How a changeling chooses and uses each new guise they adopt is up to each individual. To one changeling, it might be no more than a disguise, but to another, it could be another facet of their soul.
A 'mask' is a guise that lacks a backstory and deeper personality likely created on a whim to display a mood or to fulfill a need and could be discarded, never seen again.
A 'persona' is a full identity with a backstory, depth, and beliefs of their own. A changeling could maintain a number of personas for different applications and situations, and changelings and changeling communities could share them (for example, three changeling healers could play the one physician persona in shifts) or bequeath them to their descendants (so a young changeling could have the benefits and contacts of an older persona).
A typical changeling is careful and wary of dangers, only undertaking a risky endeavour if the rewards or the odds of success make it worthwhile. Changelings love learning new languages as these linguistics aid their disguises and personas.
