10. Meeting Morgana

We picked up where we left off with Lark, Cre, Lia and Ygwain meeting Magne. He cooks a meal for them of a hearty vegetable stew and home made bread rolls. After hes had them tell the story of their adventures so far and they finish the stew he serves home made apple pie with a sweet whipped cream. A basket of apples labelled with Ashbrooke farm on it. He starts harping on how he met the owner at the stall and how lovely she was and just as gwen starts to panic the room echoes with message stone notifications.   They get notification from Cas to meet at Morganas shop crack of dawn. Magne will prompt them to get back to where they are staying to get a good rest in. Ygwain goes to his own place to sleep in the barracks for the last time before he gets his own room. Lia stays with her dad and sleeps at home and the rest go to the Crows Nest where they find Talon and catch him up on events of the night but Talon shares nothing of his.   Next morning, we start with Gwen giving Talon a tarot card reading and he got the Death card, which Gwen kept appologising to him for getting saying its not always a bad omen.   They then meet Cas outside of Morganas. Cas informs them that the council had got word that the Black Spider could be related to the trouble around Isalume and there are rumours of similar monsters and thugs by the old mine of Wave Echo Cave. So Morgana was sent ahead to scout it out so if they can get Daisy and her map back safely they will give the party a 500 gold reward. Morgana is going to meet them and give them some support in the rescue.   As the go inside the room is like a box with books piled all over and candles in random places with scraps of paper all over the floor. In the centre a green cloaked figure mumbling and scrawling something across the floor. As they look up its Merlin but his eyes are whited out and as he speaks another voice noone recognises comes out saying "perfect timing I was just about finished, ready for an adventure" then his eyes return to normal and he shakes his head. "Oh cre, I'm sorry the place is such a mess I'd hoped to have tidied it before you got here" He picks up a staff with a giant crescent moon on top where the staff is about his height but the moon takes up about half the height. He grabs a bunch of herbs off the ground next to it and returns to the centre of the sigils.   Cas then shuffles everyone forward "well no time like the present, tell morgana I said hi" and backs out the room. Once everyone is on the sigil merlin throws a handful of herbs at the ground and shouts a phrase noone recognises. Then poof the room turns to dust, it feels like they are in darkness but also magical light. Like falling and flying and their insides being pulled and twisted all in an instant. Before they can even process how they feel they are in a field with weird looking trees that noone really recognises.   Suddenly there's a shadow flying at them from a tree above, like directly at them and before they can even think it's already flew over their heads and a thud behind them. Morgana greets them as they turn around perched within the the crescent of the moon staff. "Hello adventurers, ready to go beat up some thugs and rescue sweet little daisy? " Seeing her in the curve of the moon fit so perfectly realising the staff is hers and merlin is just bringing it for her. She hops down and takes the staff off Merlin flicks the staff and it shrinks down to a wand.   "Lil rat boy stay here with my merlin keep him out of trouble." She winks at Cre "Think he may need a little nap that was a big spell for him" as she then starts waddling along "We need to head to this cave over here ... follow me" Then she runs off full naruto style.   The group follow her leaving Merlin and Cre behind. They find Morgana at the top of the hill lying in the grass watching a cave entrance ahead. She advises the group of what movement she had witnessed and that she can see a blip of a trace of Daisy inside but unable to identify how many others are in there. They decide to send Gwens snake familiar Persephone in first to scout out the entrans and locate a few potential traps.   Ygwain tries to offer up some kind of a stealth plan utilising his skills and Talons stealth. They then approach the entrance and between Lark, Talon and Ygwain they make their way in disarming traps. On their way in Gwen triggers one trap and almost falls in a hole but thanks to a feather fall spell and the help of Lia and the term "Girl power" She got out unscathed.   The group then swept through the cave entrance level clearing it of all Bandits and square off against the bandit leader and some Uloon. They Find a map of the cave and the one that was stolen. They then rested and spent some time bonding. Lia had some sweets from the fayre and shared them out not knowing some had magical effects which rubbed Ygwain the wrong way but Morgana enjoyed them thoroughly and advised Lia chaos happens and to embrace and lean into it. However Gwen and Ygwain have a bonding session over the shared events at the pool the day before.
