Ungetüm

Most Ungetüm have jutting jaws, slightly protruding lower canine teeth, a prominent forehead and coarse body hair. Ungetüm appear more bestial than humans, however they are still considered human-like physically. They are a naturally tough and well built race who regardless of gender are usually more muscular and broad than slim.

Meat heavy diet, as they tend to live amongst dwarves they have developed a love of spiced food. They enjoy a spiced soup with large chunks of meat in them, but minimal veg.   Also similar to dwarves they do enjoy getting extremely drunk but unlike dwarves they refuse to accept they have limits so have been known to go into battle either hungover or still drunk. This is why many follow the monk path of the drunken master.

Due to their feared presence they often go without a formal education and therefore tend to be of lower intelligence.   Ungetüm are the most competitive race whether it’s who can lift the most bags of grain, who can win in a fight or even who can eat the most meat pies without being sick. This can cause a problem with some other races when they aren’t used to Ungetüm as they tend to keep telling others how many times something happened or what their own accomplishments are eg I can lift three times that amount, I am the grain bag carrying champion of Mir Buldahr.   An Ungetüm's main competitor is themselves. Always looking to best their prior score in something, challenging themselves to always win and be better than before. Regardless of this they are never cocky and don’t rub their achievements in anyone’s face. However they may be unaware of their surroundings and social queues.   Ungetüm are often perceived as uncouth savages, a reputation accentuated by the Orcish overly heavy handed and aggressive approach to activities. Impatient and ill-tempered are also stereotypes that are not too far off the mark for most Ungetüm, but these qualities are not necessarily negative.

First name is given at birth and is a name of what the family want from the child like Hope, Valiant or Prudence. Then instead of a surname they are given a name that suits there personality or achievements like stargazer, river finder or beast slayer. This second name is given at their coming of age ceremony but can be changed later upon great achievement.
