Sheema
Sheema is the goddess of beauty in the Outer Gyrlands, and presides over the concepts of charm, rebirth, healing, agriculture, wandering, and the arts. She is a strongly good-aligned deity, and she is known spreading happiness and love to all folk across Aetregyr. Known as the River Maiden, she watches over all those who know the joys of a simple life. She is the daughter of Pandolfus and Navres , and sister to the gods Emerisk and Abranth, though she is more powerful than either of her siblings.
Sheema is one of the newer deities, and is viewed as an intermediate power in the cosmology. Nonetheless, she has a huge impact on the world. Love and art and beauty can be found everywhere, even in the most desolate places, and wherever there is even a hint of life, Sheema is present.
Sheema's clerics pray for their spells at dusk. They raise their voices in song, and some are even moved to dance in her honor. Clerics and followers of Sheema often serve as advocates for the downtrodden and forgotten, they have a tendency to wander, and look to inspire love and life wherever it may be kindled. The faithful of Sheema are restless dreamers, they go from village to village, extolling the praises of their goddess. Sheema cannot stomach bullies. She fights against tyranny and oppression in all its forms. Sheema is a tireless champion against the dark work of Faestos. As the goddess of life she is the direct opposite of the goddess of death, Vamaré.
Sheema is sometimes considered a deity of trickery and illusion, and is revered by a considerable number of organizations who utilize such methods. Many Rovers are worshippers of Sheema, and often work in conjunction with local communities to spread her good works. In some remote places, the local Rover Office is often a substitute for a temple, and as such, they help educate and defend their area. She is revered by sailors and adventurers, who often feel that she is the voice that called them to venture into the unknown.
As the goddess of agriculture, Sheema is also considered a deity of nature, and is revered by a considerable number of druid groves. Druids who worship Sheema emphasize the renewal of springtime, a fondness for planting and sowing crops, and tending to pets and livestock. Sheeman Druids are generally more welcoming than many wilderness based enclaves, and often work with small farming communities to foster healthy fields and orchards. Such druids are given the same regard and status as priests, although they are not generally obligated to the Church hierarchy.
Sheema's Temples often favor form over function in big cities, brimming with works of fine art, sculptures, paintings, and other things of beauty. Almost every large temple to Sheema has a lovingly detailed painted ceiling, portraying a landscape of gorgeous natural and celestial beauty. If a large temple does not exist, many cities and towns will instead have several smaller chapels, that often serve as makeshift schools, shelters for the homeless, or outreach centers. Most Churches of Sheema try to use their influence to feed the poor, nurse the sick, provide charity and comfort to their communities.
