Borrower's Card

The Borrower's Card is a Wondrous Item (150 gp) that is issued to only the Coldhaven Archive's most trusted patrons.   By holding the card and speaking the exact title and author of a book, you can summon it from it's place in the Catacomb and into your possession. At that point the book becomes borrowed. You may only borrow one book at a time.   If you tap the card to the cover of a book you have borrowed from the library within the last 10 days, the book magically teleports to its original location within the library, assuming the book and the library are on the same plane of existence.   If you use the card’s magic to return a book borrowed for longer than 10 days, the book teleports to the library, but your card becomes inactive until you pay the fine for a late return (the penalty is usually 100 gp per day).   By holding the card and speaking a magical phrase, you can teleport yourself and one other willing creature to the Archive front desk. Once this ability has been used, the card becomes inactive and a new card must be issued to the bearer.
