The Rage of Serenith Velora

The tunnels beneath Miner's Pass pressed in around the adventurers, the weight of stone and shadow thick in the air. Ardrus Worthington, his curiosity insatiable, wove the incantations of his ritual, seeking wisdom beyond the veil. But instead of enlightenment, he found darkness—Serenith Velora.   Ancient, twisted, and malevolent, Serenith was no mere spirit nor lost soul. She was a force long untethered from time, a being whose hatred had festered in the void for centuries. Her presence slithered into Ardrus’ mind, cold and invasive, peeling away memories like brittle parchment. She was a thing of whispers and wrath, her will a clawed hand raking through the thoughts of those she touched. Tendrils of her malice spread outward, ensnaring the minds of his companions. When she reached Susha Karen, the old Elf gasped, the fog of lost time lifting for a fleeting instant.   A memory surged forth, vivid and undeniable. Susha was deep within another cavern, its walls slick with condensation, the air heavy with the scent of damp stone and something ancient, something sacred. Dim, flickering torchlight illuminated the space, casting wavering shadows across a worn stone altar at the chamber’s center. Two figures stood beside her, their faces blurred by the passage of centuries, but their presence familiar. There was purpose here—an oath to be sworn, a task to be undertaken. But what it was, she could not recall.   Then, the world shook with Serenith’s fury.   “Betrayer! Deceiver! Desecrator!”   Her voice was a storm, a howl of undying rage and resentment. The cavern trembled beneath her wrath, her words slamming into Susha’s consciousness like a hammer upon glass, shattering the fragile memory and flooding her mind with searing pain. Serenith was no impartial observer—she was a judge, an executioner, an entity whose hatred had been nursed through ages of torment. The weight of her fury pressed upon Susha, suffocating, insatiable. The cavern of her memory crumbled away, leaving only echoes and emptiness.   Ardrus, his will fraying, severed the spell with a desperate effort.   The silence that followed was deafening. The party stood, breathless and shaken, the shadows seeming deeper than before. Susha clutched her head, the memory slipping away like sand through her fingers, leaving only uncertainty and fear.
