Varley

The shattered isles of Varley were formed when a meteor impacted the former solid landmass. This meteor was made up of a rare substance that distorts gravity around it causing the Varley to have floating islands and massive winged animals.

Culture

The people of Varley are spirited and creative, with a rich history of poets, musicians and philosophers. Varley is not as hierarchically-oriented as Prethos, as it is mentioned in the book The Isles of Varley that intellectuals and artists could be found "even among the poorest folk". Physically the native ethnic people of Morley are noted by other islanders for their tall height, bulkiness and blonde hair. The people of Morley are also fiercely independent, very head-strong and proud people.   Varley is renowned for its food culture. The Isles of Varley suggests that it focuses largely on hearty foods, such as stews and roasted meats, and the author of Customs and Food of Valey makes special mention of Morley's infamous "jellied ox tongue". Varley celebrates a national festival, called the Festival of Churners - the author of Customs and Food of Morley notes in particular the "high banners, bare feet, and red robes" present at the event.

Geography

Due to the meteor made of Varleyean Metal that warps how gravity works the nation is made up of many small islands that are separated both in height and by sea.
