The Legacy of the Primal Cycles
The newly bonded worlds of Aetheus, and the chaotic battlegrounds, its new realms gaining power in its infancy. The natural time of the world had been interrupted, as the Primordials sought to interrupt the stability of the world, but still retaining the cyclical nature through the well of souls and life essence.
During this time, the cyclical nature of time in the world continued on through the forms of Epochs or Great Cycles - each one, a group of prominent Great Spirits (Primal Furies of Aeth) ruled with its forms as the world took on the greatness of nature, tied in dominance with the Primal Titans, who sought to end each cycle with the destruction of nature and calamitous storms.
But the spiritual essence of the Ethereal Plane from Aeth that slowly over time mixed with the Elemental Chaos of the Titans world of Theus, and gave rise to a new sentient form of life, of raw elemental energy given form.
Each Epoch gave rise to new numerous Primal Elementals, or Primentals - each new cycle they give rise and fall, formulating their singular points of Earth, Fire, Water and Air.
Moulding into the Ethereal Plane, enrapturing its skies with the silvery mists of the ethereal, and the ever-scorching colours of the Elemental Chaos - the Elementals gaining sentience of their own but as raw energy with physical form from the Elemental Chaos. The greatest of these that arose became known as the Elemental Lords - Aesuuzhoo the Unabated Tempest, Uwoedin the Worldbound, Ooshiune the Ocean Mother & Ssiver the Raging Inferno.
Each would face off with a Primal Titan foe to claim dominance over their innate elemental power: the Aesuuzhoo against Ora'Aro the Twin Sky, Uwoedin against Ergrogod the Gripping Quake, Ooshiune against Ioa'ue the Endless Depth, Ssiver against Kharnako the Holocaust.
The first Epoch, the Borecean Age, in which the world was recovering from the Birth of Boreas, the cold winter that covered the world and reformed the lands gave way to the great seas and oceans. At this time, the great sea creatures and aquatic rose in prominence and power, while the creatures of the chaotic lands squandered in the post-winter dystopia of the world. The Great Spirits of the primeval water ruled in greatness under Sekoloth and Toridon. These two Primal Furies fought for dominance in this age against the primordial leviathan Uk'otoa, and the primordials O'decodia, Ioa'ue & Moroborom. In these times, arose a newly grown and wild spirit given physical and terrible form, the Kraken - and they vied for power amongst all other races, ruling great sections of the abyssal depths themselves. The epoch ended once the great tsunami storms cleared, and life began to grow to full vegetation and the skies finally stopped burning.
On the burgeoning land-masses not swallowed by the oceans, the Overgrowth fought against Morgoron - the three Arbotan fought a climactic battle that shaped the lands, all but one falling to Morgoron, where the great titan was felled by Vangorvl. This marked the end of the first cycle, and the rise of the new cycle, with the rise of the armoured children of Morgoron, the Collossals.
The second Epoch, came the Thunderbeast Age, in which the land-dwelling reptiles, prehistoric dinosaurs and amphibians took to the land and fought off against the Overgrowth & Primordials - aided by the Primal Furies: Ericerbic, Odile & Toridon. The Primordials that rose in prominence against them were Omn'zion, Ulamog, Ergogod, Bialett and the Collossals. It came to be the return of the mega-fauna beasts but were driven to extinction, with only the smaller more cunning spirits and plantlife remaining. The time ended with the climactic battle between the last Arbotan of the Overgrowth, and the fall of Collossai, spreading the landmasses across the world through the sacrificial explosion of the Collossai against Vangorvl.
Meanwhile, the Linnorms claimed greater power against the other primordial, becoming more like the god-like powers of their old world, dominating the regions of the Aetheus under them after the split of the world-mass by the Collossai. The struggle between both sides came in ebbs and flows of the war, with mass death and mass rejuvenations of life - only to end in a stalemate, with the Primals largely weakened, but remaining with the aid of the last part of the Overgrowth. Though this ended with the death of Vangorvl, and the death cry of the Overgrowth - spreading into its burgeoning descendants as the Genesar, Botani and Mandragosa.
The third and final epoch was the Primal Age, where life sprang at its greatest with the aid of the decayed and shattered form of the Overgrowth - the decaying bodies of the Arbotan reclaiming lost portions of the world for the Primals of nature with the Essence of Life, and the children of Morgoron (the Goron) seeking their own dominions around the bloodied mountainous body of its progenitor. Great storms wracked and destroyed at times through the cycle. The mammalian Primal Furies - Hyana, Asterion, Gazenaroc and the plantlife of Gwynngilliad - spread against the Collossals devolved forms of Agron and Ogronn, the Primeval Linnorms, and the other great titans in a calamitous war. Through their conquests, the wilds sought to tame the chaos of the world and guide and protect the spirits - through each battle, the Primal Furies grew stronger and more adept against the Titans of Theus. The Eternal Tree spread its roots, and sought to intermingle with the rest of the world with the power of the Essence of Life and end the calamitous battle of the world. Both sides were weary, but even so the Primordials needed no sleep, no rest, and thus had no means of stopping. Thus, the Eternal Tree came up with a ploy, as it wished to grant them the solemn rest so the world may heal in due time. Through coalescing the power of the Spirit of Life, a new veil enveloped the world, invisible, like the Ethereal Plane, and summoned the power for all to achieve their needs, desires, but also reflect upon their own souls within the Great Dream Realm. Thus, the being known as Morpheus, coalesced into being through the collective dreams and consciousness of all living things - primal, sentient, elemental and otherwise. Through the emergence of the Dream, the Primordials were lulled into a great sleep... and life was allowed to flourish in their absence. However, they were still threatened by the calamitous forces of the Linnorms, which sought to expand their dominance and claim land and territory from the primordial Titans.
Within the Third Epoch, the Overgrowth was overwhelmed and silenced by the descendants of the Collosals of Morgoron... the Primals began to intervene against the Primordials in the world, no longer given the safety of their once great rival to prolong the inevitable. The Proto-races of each Great Spirit came about, taking over the wilds, working in harmony with some of the great primental beings, finding and protecting the leylines of the world to create stability in the chaos. Through this the Primordial Green gained powers of elementalism, to harness the elements against the Elemental Chaos - using it to bring balance to the Spirit of Life in the calamitous and war-torn world of Aetheus.
