This great mountain range dominates all along the west-facing coastline of the Arm of Lorthal, blackened and smoggy with smoke, filtered with ash and blackened stone and obsidian. Old volcanic vents and rocky vistas form across this land - and is home to many hardy creatures, some deadly, like the descendants of the draconian Linnorms. Guard drakes, griffons and warm-blooded lizards of a kind. Rising at a great height, and are viewed with trepidation by any traveller - as they bring the foreboding rage of fire and lava, exploding when they deem fit, like a scorned mistress or a jealous lover. They have been given hardy titles by both elf and dwarf - known as the "Dark Wards", the "Smoking Peaks", the "Endless Forges".
