Primordials

The primordials are the overseers of all of creation. Entities of light without a darkness to protect them, their light is beginning to disperse.    To humans, they are the old gods. To the Arketts, they are the everlasting stars. The light against the darkness. Mankind's final evolution. Beings of light who protect sentient life from outside forces. Chosen by a greater being they were blessed to evolve into celestial protectors. They protect the worlds from the destroyer (the abyss) and leave them to their own devices. the deities who oversaw all life for aid. They have a strict code to never directly interfere with the lower plains so that their existence might be preserved and left to themselves. But nothing lasts forever. As the millennials passed their light began to dissipate. The forces of destruction were gathering across the edges of life. To preserve their life a plan was proposed. If the matter of a single world could be converted into energy they could absorb that energy to retain their existence. This however was against their covenants. If it was their time to end, then another race must take their place.   Their parent races were divided in two across the stars. If they were brought back together there was a chance that a new generation of their species might flourish and take over when they are gone. But that too was a danger. If they broke their covenant all of reality will be fractured. Existence would be brought to the brink of total annihilation. Then they learned that one of the races was dying. These beings, the Arketts, pleaded for aid. With this factor a decision was made. They broke their covenant and brought two species together in the hope that they could bring about the next generation of Primordials. By Breaking their covenant however, a dimensional crack formed around the Arketts homeworld, And a second formed around the human world. With the last of their strength the Primordials sealed the crack over the populated world, but it was just a patch. The next generation we have to fix What was left. so long as it wasn't disturbed it wouldn't expand too quickly giving them time to move forward. the Primordials we're left to the consequences of their actions. They devolved into a fallen state, their light dispersing, unbound by the broken covenant. They became Void-Beings, demons of the nothingness, malicious creatures who can manipulate and corrupt the Shadows. This was a sacrifice they were willing to make in the hope that a better generation of their special kind may blossom. What they did not foresee is the humans' evolution of will. Originally the next generation would evolve into celestial beings, but with Will a mutation came which allowed them to retain their physical plane yet still command the celestial plane.   The few Primordials who are left (why are they left? explore later) bound themselves together to gain a little bit more strength, a little more time before completely dispersing. By the time Jarock meets them, they've taken a form that is familiar to him. In fact, they were able to save the body of Jarock's father, along with the last spark of light from Kalarock's soul, and it is through Kalarock that they reveal to Jarock who they are, who he is, and who he is meant to become.
