The Tale of Three Warriors

Written by NovaturientChels

This page details the myth; The Tale of Three Warriors and surrounds the events of the Forsaken Commander Vivaleth during the War of Faiths, Inconsolable Forlorn event that caused widespread death and destruction among elf, elfa, and elfling.

Summary

A Tale of Three Warriors: This legend is as old as the tales tell. It tells of three substances that changed into faceless elves, Saer, who arose from the core of the Starlight Veil; Rone; who appeared deep within the heart of Heavenly Gate beneath the kingdom; and Wien; who emerged from the Rayai avial tree. Together, they formed three almighty warriors. During the War of Faiths, it was rumoured that they fought the Ashen with not even half of their power and protected the three sacred sites with their lives. Ash and fog surrounded these sites, and it caught the attention of someone they hoped never to face; Vivaleth, the Forsaken Commander. One by one, Vivaleth visited these warriors to make an example of them. Vivaleth bound all three warriors to their sites of origin through the cruellest of ways. With the cast of her hand, she turned the three warriors into substances, unable to take up arms again.   First, she visited Rone, a smooth black figure of spark and gloss. He wielded a four-headed spear and lunged at Vivaleth from the sacred well underneath the kingdom. Marking Vivaleth with a prick on the neck, she became furious. In anger, she gripped Rone's spear as it lunged and broke it into ten fragmented pieces. In an attempt to protect the well, Rone jumped for Vivaleth, but she cast her hand to the side and threw Rone into the well, watching as it fell deeper and deeper into an abyss of darkness. Not convinced that Rone wouldn't climb back up, she took strands of her hair and scattered them over the well, turning Rone into a stretchy slime very slowly. Rone watched as it melted into something ungodly and slumbered within the well.   Secondly, she visited Wien. It was a smooth figure with a variety of colours coursing throughout its bark. Wielding a bow and arrow, it shot arrows at Vivaleth from the Rayai Tree and marked her face just above her eyebrow. Furious, Vivaleth caught there rest of Wien's arrows and took a tight grip of its bow, shattering it into five fragmented pieces. Wien stepped back, trying to protect the Rayai tree from its enemy. Impatient, Vivaleth grabbed Wien by the neck and heard the cracks get louder and louder. Once she dropped Wien to the floor, instead of killing it, she cast her hand in a claw-like shape and transformed Wien into the roots of the Rayai tree, slowly embedding it into the surface of the planet. Wien became the roots of a tree that spread throughout the kingdom and to the neighbouring houses.   Thirdly, she visited Saer. A smooth silver figure wielding dual short swords, known as 'Heartwood.' This weapon was unique. It bore a pommel of Rone, its Cross and Rainguard were of Wien, and the main body of steel was of Saer. Feeling weak from the loss of its kin, Saer did everything it could to protect the Starlight Veil and sliced Vivaleth across the chest multiple times. In a flying rage, she became agitated and screamed at Saer, but amid the fighting, Saer looked at the Starlight Veil and accepted its fate, knowing that it could not win against such a powerful foe. Acknowledging this, the Starlight Veil opened its core, and Saer threw Heartwood into it. The Starlight Veil sealed itself shut. Confused, Vivaleth cast her hand towards Saer and watched as it melted into a liquid substance. Now able to destroy Aethel Caeloria's sacred tree, she released both of her hand's, but she got hurled back by the protection of Heartwood, which was now the Starlight Veil's weapon.   The three warriors lived on through the Starlight Veil though bound to the tree. To this day, the three warriors have only ever been used as materials for the kingdom of Aethel Caeloria, but there was a myth within this too. Vivaleth vowed that her coming would be imminent once all three warriors arose once more.

Historical Basis

During the War of Faith's a poet of the kingdom wrote that he saw three mystical figures taking the attention of the Forsaken Commander away from Aethel Caeloria's citizens and fighting her to the best of their abilities. The War of Faiths was a universal war that took place and the Commander, Vivaleth targeted Aethel Caeloria wanting to spread her destruction and chaos among the common folk because she enjoyed watching everyone suffer at her behest.   The only evidence of this occurrence is the three substances found within Aethel Caeloria: Saer, Wien, and Rone. As well as the tome ancient parchment that partially details what the poet witnessed and the last thing each warrior said before their doom.   The Coming of Three Warriors: It is said that the revered weapons of the three warriors will be found upon the coming of the five kingdoms and they will restore balance to the world once more through the will of Saer, Wien, and Rone.

In Literature

There is one ancient parchment located within Incrementum that has been abandoned for hundreds of years gathering dust. On this one piece of parchment was this excerpt:   'When the moon turns to shadow and the stars disappear from the midnight sky, we will arise from our slumber through the hopes and dreams of another. Once more we shall wield our blades to defeat the foe that once bested us. All will seem lost and faith in the old gods will come to pass, but do not lose hope for it shall prevail in the corners of all the kingdoms to reignite the coming of passion and light. We will return and when we do, we will return with a vengeance.' This excerpt was an additional part of the myth, 'The Coming of Three Warriors,' which was a continuation of 'The Tale of Three Warriors.'
