Knowledge is Growth of the Mind. Wisdom is Growth of the Heart.
The Glazed Temple
- Name: The Glazed Temple
- Motto: "I, who seeks wisdom, bears power."
- Crest: A saer hand emerging from a puddle with a black quill between its fingers.
- Symbolism: Knowledge, Healing, and Compassion.
- Recognition: 2398 NE
- Contribution: The Glazed temple offers a place of rest for those injured and a place to study/learn new topics.
- Location: Filarion Plaza, C'avarnia.
- Head Staff: Maevil and the D'ivalorth.
Structure
There is a hierarchy in the entire establishment, split into two sections. See as below:
The Varcanai Healing Ground:
- The Lead Varcanai Healer, Maevil
- Experienced Varcanai Healers
- Practising Healers
- National Service Elves
- The Lead Varcanai Healer: This position is expected to hand-select its next generation of healers from the population of Aethel Caeloria. They must contend with the administrative side of matters, ensure the smooth and healthy running of the establishment, be kept up to date on the latest medicinal practises and herbs, take on national service elves, carefully choose and train their successor, and appropriately gift lavendaries with saer hands. Furthermore, they must attend council meetings with the reigning sovereign and neighbouring houses when necessary.
- Zedonary: This is the formal name for the successor of the Lead Varcanai Healer. The successor will do half of the tasks of their mentor to ensure they gain relevant experience in all aspects of work while still being highly compassionate. They must shadow their mentor and teach national service elves until they have reached the next stage (if the elves choose to go on), which is becoming a practising healer.
- Lavendery: This is the formal name for the experienced varcanai healers who have been gifted with saer hands. These elves are required to teach the practising healers and use their gifts to assist anyone injured, whether native or non-native. These elves can also recommend elves for the Lead Varcanai Healer to choose when the time is nigh. Some of the Lavendery are tasked with sorting paperwork, which is a part of their duty. Additionally, these elves will travel to other lands to help those who cannot heal themselves, but they will not use their saer hands due to how valuable they are. They will cover their hands with gloves and help the less complex injuries, which do not require saer properties.
- Pedanculatery: This is the formal name for the practising healers.
- Daisierin: This is the formal name for the elves undergoing national service or voluntary work.
- The D'ivalorth
- The Vythai
- The Promised Heralds
Culture
Societal Organisation
Holding the D'ivalorth or Vythai position is the most valued and respected occupation because they must devote their lives to the commands of the Starlight Veil, guiding the kingdom into the future. With this comes the 'Promised Heralds,' which are representatives of each kingdom in a scholarly role who converge into Incrementum to find and report on wisdom/facts in the thousands of scrolls and tomes. Research from travellers and native elves is conducted within Incrementum. It is only open to travellers during special occasions, and elves can only venture into books of historical significance. They are allowed nowhere near the mystical or darker tomes. The same applies to native elves. Only the Promised Heralds have access to all the texts within the building, and only the D'ivalorth has the power and mental strength to read dark tomes.
Scholarly Training:
Becoming a fully-fledged scholar can take hundreds of years due to the intensity of learning material required. Scholars need a clear mind to learn the old languages and history of the kingdoms, which the D'ivalorth and Vythai teach.
High Elf Education:
All elves born in Aethel Caeloria are entitled to attend Incrementum no matter their age, knowledge capacity or intentions. Visitors from other kingdoms are not permitted to attend these classes. The D'ivalorth and Vythai hold various sessions for different age groups and levels.
Varcanai Healing:
The Varcanai Healers can heal elves from distant lands, but the Lead Varcanai Healer, Maevil, is required by the kingdom's laws to charge for their services. Only native elves get free healthcare.
Assets
The Glazed Temple Architecture:
The Glazed Temple is a significantly large building with historical architecture. As one of the tallest buildings in C'avarnia, it is respected for its longevity and value among high elven cultures. It's noteworthy that the Glazed Temple was designed in an ancient elven idiom, a style that is elegant, majestic, and imbued with a happy undertone. Upon entry into the building is a quote carved into the floor with a gold filling, "I, Seya Amoc-Vay-Ah, Eetarva Anrook." It means: "I, who seeks wisdom, bears power."
Architecture as below:
- Foundation: The structure's base is rectangular and has a domed cupola atop its roof. The building has three large floors comprising multiple rooms. The front door bears two gigantic dark brown wien doors with saer ringed doorknobs. The doors possess the Aalarelai crest on both sides, and the building has guards stationed around the entire building for additional protection. The temple is made of delicate stone and the most robust wood.
- Entrance: The building is raised on a foundation for optimum height. It bears a circular dome and two subsidiary aedicules. There is an open-spaced long hall with stairs leading up to the first and second floor in a left-hand-sided room. The entrance is relatively wide for ease of access.
- The Portico: A rectangular central portico with a triangular pediment. Two subsidiary porticos flank this.
- Columns: Beige solid vertical rectangular columns with tree decorations wrapped around their shafts. There are eight columns in total.
- Establishment Size: 25,000 square meters.
- Rooftops: A large dark grey stone tiled dome roof.
- Outer Walls: Powdered light grey and beige stone.
- Exterior Steps: Smooth well-maintained stone.
- Inner Walls: The inner walls of the glazed temple are different. The colour theme is grey and light brown on the ground floor with patterned branch decorations along all the walls. On the first and second floors are dark brown walls. Aligned bookshelves and bookcases mainly cover the first floor.
- Flooring: There are three floors in total within the Glazed Temple. The ground and first floor are spacious. The ground floor is for the Varcanai Healers. They treat any elves requiring medical attention, with multiple wings (rooms) inside used as different performing areas, communal bathrooms, and a kitchen for the Promised Heralds. On the ground floor in the entrance is also a fireplace. The first and second floor is for the D'ivalorth and the Promised Heralds. The first floor is where all the tomes, scrolls, records, and ancient texts are kept. In other languages, these documents are mystical, antique, dark, and mighty. The second floor is the accommodation quarters for the Promised Heralds, which is significantly smaller than the other floors.
- Rooms: There are ten spacious rooms on the lower floor where the Varcanai Healers work. In the entrance of the Glazed Temple, there is an open space leading to the back of the room where there is a large plaque in the shape of a tree with saer branches stemming around the entire room, symbolising the Starlight Veil. Each room on the lower floor comprises multiple beds, medical equipment, and the uniforms of the healers. Their areas are incredibly hygienic and tidy, clean and organised. The first and second floors are entirely open plans with no particular sections.
- Interior Flooring: The ground floor has natural beige stone flooring, whereas the first and second floors have oak wooden flooring.
- Doors: The establishment's entrance has large black arched double doors with two saer ringed doorknobs. There are no doors inside the establishment, but instead, dark grey and light brown blackout curtains offer privacy when needed. The same applies to the first floor's mystical and dark tome area and the second floor's Promised Heralds quarters.
- Greenery: On all floors is hanging shrubbery for aesthetic effect and making the vicinity more comfortable for those residing within it. There are lilies, orchids, hanging ivy in the smaller rooms, and daisies in bouquets watered every day and cared for by those who work there. The Promised Heralds, D'ivalorth, and Vythai call the Glazed Temple home, as their quarters are found on the second floor. Even though Maevil and his healers also work in the building, they reside within the Community of C'avarnia underneath Dihavanor's Sphere. The Promised Heralds and Varcanai Healers are the regular occupants of the building, tending to it every day.
- Aromas: The ground floor of the Glazed Temple smells of burning sage, while the first and second floor smells of incensed lavender. The scent is vital in this building because of its proximity to the Nelaeryn Y’vaphasai, a place of prayer and Eca Gardens. Also, the stench of iron from blood is off-putting; therefore, sage is hung in small pots around the rooms to create a calming atmosphere. Upstairs on the first and second floors is, lavender infuses the spaces to replace the rustic smell.
- Lighting: Along the walls are candle sconces for illumination. There are two tree-shaped crystal chandeliers in total; one in the centre of the ceiling on the ground floor and one in the centre of the roof on the first floor. A large fireplace covered with wire mesh for insulation is in the centre of the ground and first floor. Windows: The windows on the first and second floors and the cupola are arched with light great and white stained glass. However, the ground floor has rectangular glass-paned windows, except for the arched windows beside the double doors.
- Mystical Tomes: The mystical books that require a calm mind are neatly placed on bookshelves separated by small wooden blocks for safety. Scrolls are placed in high bookcases in date order.
- Ancient Text: Documents in a different language are placed next to one another on a particular bookcase. These texts could be in the ancient runic language; Rianvantra, the Old Tongue; L'aiavanto, or the Common Tongue; S'itradil. Most of these texts require study and careful translation.
- Illegible Text: Text that is considered unclear is placed in a large wooden chest.
- Standard Books and Scrolls: Normal books and tomes are placed in date and alphabetical order for ease of access. Historical books are also found here.
- Dark Tomes: The darker tomes are located at the far end of the building on white pedestals and surrounded by black lace, cordoning them off from other books for protection and safety reasons. The darkest tome is called 'Paphnidil,' written in Riavantara with much illegible literature within. This tome was reported in 12 NE and is found within a curtained area on the first floor where chains and roots of the Starlight Veil keep it sealed shut. The record itself is rumoured to document the horrors the Forsaken Commander; Vivaleth inflicted upon the elves of Aethel Caeloria during the War of Faith's. Due to the danger, this tome imposes on elves; it is kept far away from all other books and spread out evenly. Behind this tome is four empty pedestals.
- Single Bed: The single beds have lace canopies in either white or light grey. It was made of heavy wood and carved so that the legs looked like a Hyphicen head. The mattress was thickly stuffed with down and feathers, and sheets were made of the finest linen and wool blankets. Underneath each bed was a fur throw, which served as a rug.
- Large Wooden Chest: The chests provided are box-shaped. They are also simplistic and flat-lidded enough for travel. The construction bears a single board for each side, bottom, and lid. The panels are butted against each other and nailed together. Simple iron straps are used to reinforce the box together. The chest itself has no legs but is decorated with the Aalarelai Sigil and has carved branches all around it.
- Weapons Rack: There is a three sword wall hanger made with timber, then finished in a matt black and hung on the wall. It measures 14" high, & 13.5" wide and 3.5" out from the wall.
- Armour Stand: The stand is made from timber and is life-sized, offering the Promised Heralds a safe and sturdy place to hold their armour.
- Leather Chair and Footstall: An oak leather chair upholstered with tan leather and a brass-studded trim. The footstall is made the same.
- Cupola: In the centre of the heralds' quarters is a wooden ladder that leads to an enclosed attic that oversees all of C'avarnia. The Cupola is made entirely of stained white glass.

Military
The Varcanai Guard protects the Glazed Temple as it resides within the walls of C'avarnia, and anything that stands there is protected. At least four guards surround the establishment for protection purposes and more during special occasions. The double doors of the establishment are solid, making forced entry difficult but not impossible. It takes a large force to kick the doors down.
Technological Level
The only valuables found in the Glazed Temple would be the historical, dark, and mystical texts found within Incrementum. They are guarded by the Promised Heralds throughout the day and often at night. Due to no one knowing how to get to the second floor of the temple, all valuables there are kept safe, secured, and locked
Religion
Religion isn't widely practised throughout Aethel Caeloria; however, the Virtuous Order does worship their God, Nelaeryn, to a minimal extent. Minimal meaning abiding by his teachings, appreciating all he has given to the high elves, and thanking him every day for the life he has given them. Some may light a candle or lay flowers at his shrine, Nelaeryn Y'vaphasai.
Trade & Transport
Transport:
Transport mainly consists of horseback riding and wagon management. Horses are used for long-distance destinations. On the other hand, wagons are used with horses to carry heavier items such as racks of tomes and sometimes chests of gold/silver to purchase texts and medical herbs.
Infrastructure
The Infrastructure of the Glazed Temple is relatively simple:
- Jujinal Wall: Around the outside of the entire kingdom is the impenetrable wall of Jujinal carved during 2397 NE – 1675 NE. This wall was carved to resemble a crown from an isometric and bird-eye viewpoint. From a direct point of view, it appears to be a towering structure.
- Sewage: This is controlled through drains found throughout the kingdom. The sewage of the kingdom is filtered and then released beyond the Ca'rthavial Vales to ensure no harm comes to the waters and sea life.
- Roads/Pathways: All roads within the kingdom of Aethel Caeloria are connected from Dihavanor's Sphere in the centre. The roads expand out towards House M'ithai, House Tythal, the Ca'rthavial Vales and along the kingdom's borders.
- Silencium: Within Rhyzeal Stream is the art gallery and museum where elves get the chance to experience Aethel Caeloria's history through their antiques and art.
- Nelaeryn Y'vaphasai: In between Silencium and the Glazed Temple is this small temple that acts as a place of silent prayer.
"I, who seeks wisdom, bears power."
The Glazed Temple: This temple is devoted to the art of medical care and knowledge. Elves who choose to undergo their national service as healers study and practice here, closely supervised. The Lead Varcanai Healer, Maevil, resides with his Varcanai Healers, gifted with mystical saer properties granted by the Starlight Veil. The gift given to a mere handful of Varcanai Healers is known as 'Saer Hands,' which are saer covered hands that reach the middle of the forearm down to each fingertip. This gift is only given in confidence and has been called miraculous by many.
Workers of the Glazed Temple: Few work inside the glazed temple, but those who do keep to themselves for the most part; however, they have no issue communicating with one another if needs be. On the lower floor is where the Varcanai Healers reside and on the first and second floors is where the Promised Heralds live. Maevil is the Lead Varcanai Healer managing and supervising national service elves and the more experienced healers. Yinralei Paylinn is the D'ivalorth overseeing the Promised Heralds. Halueve Tythal is the Vythai.
The Promised Heralds: In C'avarnia, there is a well-regarded group called 'The Promised Heralds,' who are the keepers of knowledge. They are known throughout all the lands, and once a D'ivalorth comes into power, a collective cluster of elves forms the group. One scholar from each kingdom must come forth to complete this consortium as they'll provide guidance to each kingdom through their findings and discover new scriptures and tomes etc., as new ones make their way into Incrementum through trade and travel. The heralds are as below:
