History
The Caelorian Reaper was forged during 1826 VO by King Eca Aalarelai for his son, Ralnor Aalarelai, as a gift for his name day. Knowing that his older brother, Filarion, would come into succession of the King's sword, Nithavideon, Eca went out of his way to make a blade specifically for Ralnor, who felt like an outsider upon growing up. He drew some of his son's blood for future generational purposes, which Ralnor did not fully acknowledge. The finest blacksmiths forged the sword with Eca's permission to commemorate the bond with his brother and position as a future advisor.
However, as an elfling, Ralnor and his brother played near the Ca'rthavial Vales edge when the two of them engaged in playful combat with their swords. Filarion wielded Heartwood while Ralnor wielded the Caelorian Reaper. Upon their playing, Ralnor lost his footing due to being unbalanced, and his sword fell from the top of the cliff into the waters below. In an attempt to find the sword, young Ralnor and Filarion made their way to the entrance of the Heavenly Gate and the shallow waters just outside it, but the blade could not be seen, for the underwater smog and coral hid it. Upon his return, Eca Aalarelai was disappointed with Ralnor, and he had lived with that disappointment for the remainder of his life.
Many years later, upon Filarion Aalarelai's reign as King in 2355 VO, he found the Caelorian Reaper in secret while accompanied by the Varcanai Guard and smiled upon its sighting. While it was a little rusty, he ensured it would return to its former appearance and see battle again.
Significance
The Caelorian Reaper is now the property of Linthuwai Aalarelai who is the Commander of the Varcanai Guard, making it a highly significant weapon.
The Caelorian Reaper: This broadsword initially belonged to Ralnor Aalarelai, who lost it while playfighting as an elfling. The sword was to become the official blade of the advisor of the King, passed down from generation to generation. However, once Ralnor lost it atop the Ca'rthavial Vales, his father, Eca, dismissed that option.
The Owners of the Caelorian Reaper: Initially, it belonged to Ralnor Aalarelai, but upon King Filarion Aalarelai's passing, he gifted it to his brother's son instead, Linthuwai.
The Matt Blade: Eca Aalarelai noticed his youngest son, Ralnor, felt left out not having anything significant to his name other than his blood, so he went out of his way to forge him the first matt steel blade within the kingdom; something to make Ralnor feel unique and less like an outsider. Upon creating the blade, Eca gifted it to Ralnor shortly after his name day and witnessed the biggest smile Ralnor had ever shown.
