House Tythal (Tie-thal)
The House of Thorns
House Tythal:
- Castle Name: Tharnhim
- Motto: "Sworn by The Sword."
- Sigil: A black sword surrounded by a wreath of Aegean blue and golden thorns.
- Colour on Design: Aegean Blue, Gold, and Black.
- Symbolism: Bravery, Valiant and Diligent.
- Sacred House Item: 'Bloodsbane;' a long sword with slits of Aegean blue and black velvet on the grip. The blade is saer with gold patterned engraving within the fuller. It was also used as a ceremonial sword during Dihavanor's reign and was one of the most revered weapons during the War of Faith's.
- House Recognition: This household became officially recognised as a trusted ally in 832 NE by Dilax Aalarelai.
- House Contribution: They train and contribute soldiers to the Varcanai Guard of Aethel Caeloria and the Caelorian Incline, making them a highly respectable house and a force not to be reckoned with.
- Two Regions: The first region of Epanon consists of Tharnhim Castle, the Ca'rthavial Vales, much of the Summergloss Fields, and the Seosseocyre and Teyidorai domes. The second region of Veanno consists of the Homes of Thorns and the Tythal Farming Fields.
- The Leading Family: The head of the Tythal family is: Lamruil, and his wife is Muerala. Together they bore three elflings; Halueve, Hayze, and Ayred.
Structure
Leading Family:
The leading elves of Tharnhim Castle are the Tythal family, who each possess their roles within their lands and the kingdom of Aethel Caeloria:
- Lamruil Tythal: He is in charge of distributing soldiers for the Varcanai Guard and Caelorian Incline. Lamruil oversees the protection of his people and the Caelorian Incline. Furthermore, he is the carer of the Summergloss fields where the H'ilvatruth is located, herds of Hydraen, and the Ca'rthavial Vales a few miles south.
- Muerala Tythal: She is responsible for tending to the welfare of her people and the Caelorian Incline, whom she respects highly after they protected her youngest son as an elfling from mercenaries. She is also the co-manager of Silencium, within Aethel Caeloria, alongside Iravaya M'ithai, who both love and appreciate art.
- Halueve Tythal: She is the firstborn of her parents. She used to work within the Ivory Orchid Tavern while upholding the duties of her mother and father. However, she is later awarded the title of Vythai (Tender of Scrolls) by the Starlight Veil, giving her a new purpose and duty in life. She also becomes a Promised Herald. These titles demand the utmost respect. Her life partner is Linthuwai Aalarelai.
- Hayze Tythal: She is the secondborn who works as a bartender within the Ivory Orchid Tavern. After her sister becomes the Vythai, all responsibilities are passed down to her, handing her the mantle of her mother and father, thus becoming known as 'The Mantle Bearer.' Due to this, she becomes the primary wielder of Bloodsbane.
- Ayred Tythal: Ayred is the youngest elfling undergoing his National Service within the Varcanai Guard.
- The Head/Mantle Bearer: This elf/elfa reports on the general wellbeing of the elves of Tharnhim Castle, receiving feedback from their loyal subjects to better improve the lifestyle within their lands.
- The Head Elfa: The head elfa (the wife of the head of house) reports on the plant life and vegetation alongside the botanists. Additionally, she reports on the general welfare of all elves within the lands of Tharnhim Castle.
- The Guide: This elf/elfa is the advisor of the leading family providing feedback to everyone regarding what the local thorns of the land want to say/have changed.
- Commander of the Caelorian Incline: Viykar is the current head of this elite and private military organisation. He reports on the progression of all domes, soldier intake and transferences, National Service numbers, elitist recruitment, the welfare of his soldiers, resources needed for training, and any threats noticed/resolved within the area.
- Head of Seosseocyre: Olaressia Amnara is the head of this dome. She trains soldiers and her fellow leading associates in a supervisory and advanced role. Due to the larger size of the area, she discusses the upkeep, the training progression of all soldiers, resource requests, and Varcanai Guard transferences. She also alleviates the workload of Viykar's National Service requests.
- Head of Teyidorai: Eaekon Anthrui is the head of this dome, training soldiers and his fellow leading associates. Due to Teyidorai containing many plant species, both common and rare, Eaekon also reports on the progression and welfare, tending to them along with professional botanists.
- One Scribe: One regular thorn is used to note everything down for recording purposes.
Culture
The culture of House Tythal is a little different to C'avarnia. With the leading family in charge of overseeing the running of the regions, Epanon and Veanno. They are often looked up to as role models; however, they share the same beliefs as the natives of the prominent kingdom. Their lives are enriched by the knowledge and former lessons of their God, Nelaeryn. While diversity is more prevalent within Tharnhim Castle due to the Caelorian Incline, everyone is wary of outsiders. During special occasions, their lands are open but are (most of the time) reserved for the natives of the land only. Their culture is stable, resilient, tolerant, and bears authentic beliefs. House Tythal is widely known for its soldier contribution and elitist military unit, the Caelorian Incline, which prides itself upon its accomplishments. Epanon and Veanno are protected by both the Varcanai Guard and the Caelorian Incline, renowned for its exclusive military services and contributions to C'avarnia. Its council of thorns juggles the demands of its people and the soldiers, ensuring all is well-balanced and controlled efficiently. The hardworking population of 20,000 elves are known throughout the many lands for their strenuous work ethic and contributions.
The Native High Elves:
These elves are known as 'thorns,' which are still native high elves of Aethel Caeloria. The high elves are lean, athletic, radiant, and tall, each with the knowledge and mental capability of ten thousand. Their hair colour ranges from black to light blonde, and their faces are stunning with distinct facial features and pointy ears. Their eyes are crepuscular, giving them the ability to see during twilight. Their mesmerising cheekbones are what separates them from the rest of the world as faint rays of light emit from underneath, alerting them to both distant and immediate danger. Their psyche is both orphic and logical, which creates a near-perfect balance. They come across as highly empathetic but can sometimes lack sympathy, making them both emotional, occasionally cold, and passionate beings. Thorns of Tharnhim Castle are not as opposed to distant travellers compared to their counterparts within C'avarnia, accepting those with different cultures and traditions. However, like the capital, they will not allow permanent residence unless an elf is native. Thorns preserve themselves and all they hold dear. Furthermore, they are not to be tampered with because they are trained from a young age in hand combat, spear combat and swordplay to eliminate anything that could be deemed a threat to their lands and their people.
Society:
House Tythal utilises the same currency, rules, and societal expectations as C'avarnia. Crime is relatively lower due to the lands being a lot smaller than C'avarnia; however, distant threats are dealt with more often than not. However, the difference between Epanon and Veanno is that they are a lot more lenient in terms of entertainment, allowing gambling and drinking games for their people.
National Service:
Elflings and elves alike are sent to partake in National Service for at least two years; however, everyone can take it up in whichever area they see fit.
When elves are transferred from the Varcanai Guard, they continue their national service through the Caelorian Incline. Viykar gives those who have moved into the Caelorian Incline the choice to stay and train with them full-time or train with them part-time while continuing their service in the Varcanai Guard. Few choose the latter because serving in the Caelorian Incline is such an honour and a great opportunity that reaps so many rewards, including protection, advanced personal skills, a place to live, and continual income during their time within the institute. Those within the Caelorian Incline also get access to Tharnhim Castle, Myserth Hall, and Aethel Caeloria without any hassle, as their service is highly respected.
During their time in service, the soldiers of the Caelorian Incline must spend a large quantity of their time in Galsra to implement the skills they have learned alongside the Galsran Guard and sometimes the Daireel. Only those who have surpassed their basic training with the Caelorian Incline can travel to Galsra. This allows two-way kingdom integration. Working together establishes work connections and a stronger bond between the two kingdoms as each kingdom benefits from working with one another.
Assets
House Tythal bears many assets within its two regions, which contribute to the beauty of Aethel Caeloria. The primary nature-related asset would be the Summergloss fields, which shimmer in the light. Below are a few other assets the regions of Epanon and Veanno boasts:
Tharnhim Castle:
This is where the leading family reside, taking to their quarters and communal areas to uphold and carry out their duties. Tharnhim Castle is also the structure where parties are conducted, allowing the elves of Tharnhim to converge and politely socialise with the leading family.
Tharnhim Courtyard:
Tharnhim Castle is where few soldiers from the Caelorian Incline and Varcanai reside while elflings train alongside one of the leading associates. The leading associates alternate between Saphilia Ause and Limanuul Plaive.
Domed Courtyards:
Tharnhim Castle has two domed courtyards specifically for the Caelorian Incline, which span across vast acres of land found within the region of Epanon:
- Teyidorai (tay-e-door-i): Holds 500-800 elves. On the outside of the dome are common plants grown by the local botanists. The inside of the dome consists of the rarer and more harmful plants specially preserved by professional botanists and the head elfa. Though not as big as Seosseocyre, Teyidorai consists of a few weapons mostly used for parkour, medicinal, and hand-to-hand combat purposes. The leading associate, Eaekon Anthrui, manages this structure.
- Seosseocyre (see-o-seek-ah): Holds 1000-2500 elves, making it the most extensive courtyard. This dome is where most of the training for the Caelorian Incline takes place, especially regarding weapons. It is filled with various weapons neatly organised around the dome and fighting equipment. The leading associate, Olaressia Amnara, manages this structure.
- The White Orchid: A small white flower with soft petals and a harmless stem.
- Silver Lilies: A natural bouquet of silver petaled flowers that blossom when in direct sunlight.
- Caelorian Vines: White vines connecting to Rayai, Nithavaer and Nydon that surround the outer edges of Eca Gardens and delve deep into the ground travelling around Tharnhim Castle and Myserth Hall. Their roots delve deep into the surface below, protecting everything within its area. There is no mystical relevance to the vines, only that their primary purpose is to keep safe what the elven race cannot through providing unobtainable nutrients.
- Canthil: The Canthil grows to heights of 24 inches. They possess a sweet strawberry-like aroma. Their petals are slightly wavy, while the blooms are rather bowl-shaped. Colours range from orange, red, and bright pink.
- Sinaturai: The Sinaturai is an elongated, edible fruit. It possesses high nutritional value and is healthy in small or large amounts. The Sinaturai is a fruit that hangs from a vertical stem forming a trunk measuring 5 feet tall. The individual fruits are grouped in clusters of 30-40 each time.
- Ghost Fruits: These are located on the cliff's edge near the Homes of Thorns and are wrapped within an ice casing. They all grow on the stems of a light grey glossy vine curled around the rocks of the cliff edge.
- Canvasia: Similar to the Nepenthes tenax, it grows up to a height of 125 cms with a pitcher shaped flower on the top, bearing a height of 35 cms. The Canvasia is ivory in colour, with its lid being bright yellow. Its leaves are short, rigid, and chevron-shaped. They are typically held vertically on strong green tendrils that are tightly coiled. This is considered a lowland plant, but it will create a substance with a sweet taste and an aftertaste of sourness throughout its life.
- Florvil: Like the Encephalartos woodii, Florvil possesses a crown of salmon pink leaves, an intricately patterned trunk, and golden cones. It is remarked as elegant and fragile, with delicate V-shaped curves when fully grown. This plant has existed for more than 5,000 years. While many plants produce seeds in flowers, the Florvil is a cycad. Meaning its seeds develop in cones.
- Dithavil: Similar to the Middlemist camellia, the Dithavil is deep purple with glossy green serrated leaves. It primarily comes in deep purple, but white and yellow ones are located deep within Myserth Forest too. Its petals are soft to the touch, and the flower itself is more significant than most ranging at 10 inches in diameter with 1-15 petals surrounding it. The silver stamens, a stark contrast to the petal colour, are the main attraction, containing two seeds within each one. Although beautiful and ornamental, it has long been grown for various cooking and medicinal properties. The most widespread use is the Caelorian Dithavil alcoholic beverage only the Aalarelai household has access to.
- Radin Vines: Similar to the Strongylodon macrobotrys, these turquoise vines can grow as long as 15 meters, while the dark teal flowers on the vines can stretch up to 100cm. This flower takes the shape of an inwards claw and is used for medicinal purposes against unbearable excessive pain.
- BlossomsGaze: A vibrant auburn hue flower that is beautiful and soft upon the slightest touch. Anyone who dares gaze upon it up close becomes paralyzed so that the plant can indulge in their souls. Those that stare at it from a distance will fall into a temporary slumber and awaken a few hours later. A spring of these flowers must be avoided at all costs, as a simple gaze will result in the flowers ravenously consuming one's entirety.
- Curiosities Trap: This is a blood-red flower with midnight blue leaves. At the centre of the flower is what looks like a gemstone; however, it is just a gold petal reflecting the sunlight. Around the centre of the flower are curved (inwards) thorns that possess sharp tips. Once someone strokes or attempts to pick the flower, the thorns will either retract backwards and impale the handpicking the stem or strike inwards and impale the fingers attempting to touch the centre of the flower. The throbbing sting will last for a few hours.
- Glyriosa Leaf: Very similar to Nerium oleander, the Glyriosa leaf can cause excessive sweating, dizziness, and comatisation upon the slightest touch. The leaf itself possesses a soft orange hue with subtle shades of blue. The veins will discreetly pulsate once it's touched someone, and the apex will curl inwards. The only way this leaf can be handled is by the base of the petiole.
- H'ilvatruth' (Hill-va-truth): Within the Summergloss fields is a horizontal line of statues of all the former kings of Aethel Caeloria. These statues stand at 12 feet tall and were carved to look exactly like the Kings of Old. This wonder was made by the roots of the Starlight Veil and hardened into Saer over time through pure and direct starlight.
- Silencium: Muerala Tythal and Iravaya M'ithai are the co-managers of Silencium, which is predominately an art gallery; however, classical music is played there too from time to time. It possesses a style that is perceived as fashionable and imbued with a happy undertone making elves want to step foot within. The building itself bore a wide range of modifications from its construction in 1540 NE to its completion in 299 VO. Over hundreds of years, Silencium ended up sizing at 480ft long and 60ft deep. It was elevated on a one-foot foundation of carved stone to give the gallery a sense of height. There was a central entrance with smooth wien wooden double doors and marble staircases draped with a white carpet along the middle. The opening was relatively narrow compared to other buildings, but its side rooms were disproportionately more expansive. Though it is enormous, the building opens its doors to elves from different kingdoms who love the arts. Silencium is located to the left of Nelaeryn Y'vaphasai, where marriage ceremonies and prayer occur. This is located close to the Glazed Temple within Rhyzeal Stream.
History
House Tythal doesn't have a generalised history due to only being established in 832 NE. Therefore, this makes their existence relatively recent. However, there are vital wars that have led to House Tythal being incredibly respected citizens of the land of Aethel Caeloria:
- 213 NE: The Conqueror's Conquest: This war was elf vs nature: The Vithra below the Ca'rthavial Vales had to defend themselves against the Ashen. They were ruthless and wanted to venture deep beneath Aethel Caeloria. Fystros Tythal suffered greatly at the hands of the Vithra, losing his friends to them. This caused him to fight the Vithra head-on. Alas, he fell in battle. Raelin took his father's mantle, won the battle, and drove the Vithra back into the cave from whence they came.
- 212 NE: Conflict of Ca'rthavial Vales: This conflict took place between Aethel Caeloria and Dawndale. Dawndale had one goal; to gain control of Ca'rthavial Vales and all it withholds. The battle took place for many years, with lives lost on both sides; however, due to the power the Starlight Veil provided the High Elves of Aethel Caeloria, there were more losses on Dawndale's side. Sterin, brother of the late Fystros Tythal, fought in this war alongside Laeril and won.
- 210 NE: The Clash of Star and Stone: Once allies, Aethel Caeloria and Dawndale fought side by side, sharing in their resources and co-existing together to a minor extent. One night, Dawndale stole one of Aethel Caeloria's most precious resources and claimed it for themselves, cutting Aethel Caeloria off from their trade lines and secluding themselves behind their walls. Confused by this act of betrayal, Dihavnor Aalarelai sent his three brothers: Paerel, Intervar and Aire, with 2,000 of the Varcanai Guard and 200 of the Caelorian Incline to find out what happened. Once Aethel Caeloria marched down to the gates of Dawndale, they were met with hostility as those in charge no longer wanted to share the resources they had stolen. Eren Tythal fought alongside her kin in the Clash of Star and Stone.
- 209 NE: The Chaos of Dawndale: Eyraeshir and Aethel Caeloria crossed one another's territory borderlines, and war sparked between the two great kingdoms. Later, Kavahir and Galsra participated in this conflict and came to the aid of their allies, resulting in a complete slaughter on all sides. Eren Tythal fought with soldiers from the Caelorian Incline and survived.
- 209 NE: Blood Waters Gap: This is the war Aethel Caeloria was involved in during the War of Faiths, fighting on two fronts, Eyraeshir and the Forsaken Commander, Vivaleth and the Ashen. The Ashen cut through the elves like paper while Eyraeshir used the seas to drown the high elves, which resulted in a bloody slaughter. Their saviour was House Tythal's, Bloodsbane and House M'ithai's, Glynrel Light, which blinded the enemies into retreat, allowing Aethel Caeloria to advance and take back their territory. Bloodsbane, wielded by Naerynidam, was utilised alongside his sister Eren. Alas, Eren fell in battle.
- 170 NE: The Dales Disgrace: Dawndale suffered a horrid defeat at the hands of Aethel Caeloria, so in a bid to get revenge for their losses, they infiltrated the kingdom when Dihavanor and his kin were out on the front lines fighting their enemies. Savages disguised as travellers penetrated the royal palace, kidnapping two of Dihavanor's sisters, Caeda and Lierin, who were later brutally murdered. However, House Tythal also suffered a significant loss after Tsarra was murdered in her sleep along with her husband and their three elflings. Only one elfling survived but became traumatised. This sparked a war between House Tythal and Dawndale too. Saddened by the loss of her sister, Heleynore Tythal avenged her sister during the Dales Disgrace and took in the lone elfling, Vhamir, as her own alongside her wife, Alvaeralle. Later, she fought in the battle of Glynrel's Light alongside House M'ithai, where she was slain. She survived that war then supported the royals of C'avarnia during the Brother's Vengeance combat.
- 146 NE: Glynrel's Light: During the War of Faiths, House M'ithai of Aethel Caeloria used their house's heirloom to warden away the darkness that infested their lands through the Lantern of Glynrel; the last light of the mythical Twi'phray. Heleynore Tythal assisted House M'ithai in their efforts forging a tight friendship.
- 100 NE: Greed's Spear: The Varcanai Guard wanted to know the Caelorian Incline's secrets into advanced training. Therefore, they camped on the outskirts of the Summergloss Fields to attack the city the following morning as they were refused access to their knowledge. Three hundred members of the Varcanai Guard were slaughtered in the middle of the night once the Caelorian Incline lunged their spears hundreds of metres away with notes on the end of each one telling them to depart the lands before they kill more. A lesson to the Varcanai Guard was not to allow greed or jealousy into their hearts. Raelin Tythal stood by the side of the Caelorian Incline, refusing to enable the Varcanai Guard to invade the secrets of their people. Through unity and perseverance, he won.
- 0 VO: The Day of Stratanum: (Natural Event)
- 2 VO: The Inconsolable Forlorn: Naerynidam fought during the Inconsolable Forlorn and survived. He managed to face the Ashen head-on with the help of his kin and people who refused to let the fort fall to darkness.
- 23 VO: Bloodbane's Ferocity: Naerynidam later fought with his ancestor's heirloom, Bloodsbane, a longsword. Bloodsbane was only supposed to be used as a ceremonial sword during Dihavanor Aalarelai's reign. However, upon the War of Faith's arrival, it changed to become one of the most revered weapons that managed to turn the tide and give hope to the high elves of Aethel Caeloria. It radiates dark blue when it kills a foe. As a result, the sword is aligned with two thin outlines around the hexagonal fuller that illuminates dark blue to symbolise the blood it slew during the war. Naerynidam wielded this blade and fought a mighty battle, becoming a vital part of history, winning in the battle, Bloodsbane's Ferocity.
- 25 VO: Battle of The Blue Mountain: After surviving Bloodsbane's ferocity, Naerynidam fought in the Battle of the Blue Mountain, silencing the Ashen and Forsaken Commanders for eternity. He was hailed a hero upon his return to Epanon and Veeano.
- 825 VO: The Merc's Strike: Mercenaries managed to infiltrate Aethel Caeloria and wanted citizenship into the kingdom for the vast opportunities they offered their people. Due to not being from Aethel Caeloria, Rhyzeal Aalarelai prohibited it from happening, escorting the mercenaries out of the kingdom. In an attempt to control the situation, Rhyzeal ordered 100 members of the Varcanai Guard, 100 keepers from the Howlite Clan, and 100 soldiers from the Caelorian Incline to force the mercenaries out of the kingdom, including those they had captured. Standing as one, the mercenaries fought until their last breath to gain access to the kingdom. Still, none lived to tell of their tales as the soldiers of all Aethel Caeloria united in slaughtering them all without mercy. The pathways of C'avarnia ran blue, and it was a lesson for mercenaries who thought of trying something similar in the future. Naerynidam Tythal led his people and followed the lead of Rhyzeal Aalarelai, who took to the frontlines.
Demography and Population
House Tythal Population:
- Overall, it has a population of just over 21,500.
- Tharnhim Castle: Withholds the leading family of five elves
- Seosseocyre: Holds 1000-2500 elves
- Teyidorai: Holds 500-700 elves

Territories
House Tythal owns two regions that spread far and wide, Epanon and Veanno. The grounds of Tharnhim Castle bears the protection of the Varcanai Guard and the Caelorian Incline and the support of the Aalarelai Bloodline for their welfare needs. In return, C'avarnia provides them with the protection they need to survive away from the kingdom, as well as the resources necessary to remain self-sustainable. Below is what they own:
The Summergloss Fields: The Summergloss fields are entirely harmless and span across the regions of Epanon and Veanno. They shine vibrant green during the day then turn as black as night with tiny speckles of starlight shimmers within its shards. The grass is predominately black, though. Around the domes are fields of flowers with vibrant colours and a glowing shine at night. It keeps the areas lit and is a serene, picturesque sight.
- Statues of Historical Significance: H'ilvatruth (Hill-va-truth): Within the Summergloss fields are a horizontal line of statues of all the former kings of Aethel Caeloria. These statues stood at 12 feet tall and were carved to look exactly like the Kings of Old. This wonder was made by the roots of the Starlight Veil and hardened into Saer over time through pure and direct starlight.

Military
The Caelorian Incline:
The Caelorian Incline is the elite military unit of House Tythal who are loyal to Aethel Caeloria. This elite militarised group is located in Epanon's Teyidorai and Seosseocyre domes, and Tharnhim Castle with a population of over 1500 elves. The Caelorian Incline associates itself with House Tythal training hand-picked elves from the Varcanai Guard and pushing them to their limits. This training is vigorous and challenging mentally, physically and emotionally.
The Leading Associates:
There are six leading associates of the Caelorian Incline who have become close friends over the years, treating one another like family. These elves train elflings, adolescents, and adults alike. Leading associates below:
The Head, Viykar
Olaressia Amnara
Limanuul Plaive
Eaekon Anthrui
Saphilia Ause
Naisvin Dusai
This is the only training that allows for the spilling of blood.
National Service:
When an elf/elfa is transferred from the Varcanai guard, that elf/elfa continues their national service through the Caelorian Incline. Viykar gives those who have moved into the Caelorian Incline the choice to stay and train with them full-time or train with them part-time while continuing their service in the Varcanai guard. Few choose the latter because serving in the Caelorian Incline is an honour and a great opportunity that reaps so many rewards, including protection, advanced personal skills, a place to live, continual income during their time within the institute and more. Those within the Caelorian Incline also get access to Tharnhim Castle, Myserth Hall, and C'avarnia without any hassle, as their service is highly respected.
During their time in service, the soldiers of the Caelorian Incline must spend a large quantity of their time in Galsra to implement the skills they have learned alongside the Galsran Azmec and sometimes the Daireel. Working together establishes work connections and a stronger bond between the two kingdoms as each kingdom benefits from working with one another. Only those who have surpassed their basic training with the Caelorian Incline can travel to Galsra. This allows two-way kingdom integration.
Attire:
The leaders and soldiers of the Caelorian Incline wear different clothing items to differentiate their ranks. Clothing as below:
Stage 1: Bound Through Bravery
Stage 2: Seeping Silence
Stage 3: Saer Speed
Extended Training:
Once the basic training has been completed, the soldiers who succeeded are expected to attend the extended training, which teaches them valuable skills with elves and creatures alike:
- The Soldiers: The Caelorian Incline wears black velvet cloaks with golden embroidered edges. They have ebony metallic armour with golden thorns engraved throughout. Their helmets are pure ebony, covering their faces completely. Above the helmet are six golden metallic wings covering the eyes and the mouth. The wings allowed for a slit in the guard's eyesight and mouthguard. There are also two golden wings spread out wide atop the helmet. This applies closely with associate leadership too.
- Part One: Nelaeryn's Equilibrium
- Part Two: Sara'lia's Benevolence
- Part Three: Thy Gentle Tongue
Religion
Religion isn't widely practised throughout the lands of Aethel Caeloria; however, the Virtuous Order does worship their God, Nelaeryn, to a minimal extent. Minimal, meaning abiding by his teachings, appreciating all he has given to the high elves, and thanking him every day for the life he has given them. Some may light a candle or lay flowers at his shrine, Nelaeryn Y'vaphasai.
The High Priest and Priestess keep as updated on the efforts of their God, abiding by his rules and informing the citizens of these rules now and again. The Haven of Solaris is a safe place but often perceived as a religious establishment to learn more about Nelaeryn's time of creation. Any new knowledge discovered by the D'ivalorth and Promised Heralds regarding Nelaeryn's creations and laws are passed onto the Virtuous Order for knowledge and safe-keeping sake.
Foreign Relations
The Great Kingdom of Qeruma:
Qeruma is Aethel Caeloria's strongest, closest, and greatest ally.
National Service:
Those referred from the Varcanai Guard to the Caelorian Incline are expected to spend a significant amount of their time training alongside the military of Qeruma. They would accompany them on patrols within the kingdom and ensure the laws of their lands are upheld by all citizens, learning an alternate way of life while establishing connections and developing friendships in the process. This experience also gives elves the chance to learn about new cultures and accept differences.
Agriculture & Industry
House Tythal is best known for its military training efforts, agricultural and resource management, plant care, and horse management. Industries as below:
Veanno Farming Fields:
Civilians of House Tythal domesticate a range of animals that contribute to the overall resources of Aethel Caeloria, including chickens, cows, quails, goats, rabbits, sheep, pigs, turkeys, horses, donkeys, llamas, and alpacas. From these animals, cereals, fruits, vegetables, meat, and crops can be harvested throughout the year through nurturing care. The animals often have a high-nutrient content, and farmers' crops are highly reliable, bringing in an excellent harvest every time. Many foods are distributed to the Ivory Orchid Tavern and farmer stalls within Filarion Plaza of C'avarnia, where a portion of farmers income comes from. Agriculturists are paid handsomely for their efforts in redistribution for the entire kingdom.
Equus Management:
Horses and donkeys are well-maintained by the elves of Epanon and Veanno, who have impressive stables for them to reside. There are more than 5,000 stallions, 1,000 horses, and 500 donkeys living within Tharnhim Castle's vicinity. All horses are taken care of by both the Caelorian Incline, Varcanai Guard, and the leading family of Tythal.
The Stallions are their most prized possessions as, more often than not, they can produce quality offspring and are purebred. Many stallions are hardworking, especially with the training and care they receive. None of these horses is for sale as they are the animal companions of the Cavalry division within the Varcanai Guard and the leading family of House Tythal. The horses, however, can be sold and are taken care of just as well as stallions are. They are often sold for half the price of a stallion. Prices as below (average):
- Horses: 5-10 Avirial Coins (Conversion = £500-£1000 GBP)
- Stallions: 10 Raw Avirial Coins (Conversion = £10,000 GBP)
- The Summergloss Fields: They shine vibrant green during the day then turn as black as night with tiny speckles of starlight shimmers within its thin shards.
- Rare and Harmful plants: These are kept within Teyidorai and are preserved by the head elfa and botanists of the land.
- Common Flowers: Daisies, tulips, daffodils, white poppies, bluebells, a wide variety of coloured roses, snowdrops, skeleton flowers, peonies, chrysanthemums, hyacinths, lilies, and lotus.
- Trees: There are only five trees that surround the inside of Teyidorai, and those trees are cherry blossom, golden cluster, bold white bract, maple, and a magnolia tree.
- Fruit Trees and bushes: Apples, oranges, lemons, pears, apricots, plums, cherry, and mulberry trees. Blackberry, blueberry, blackcurrant, grapevines, raspberry, strawberry, rhubarb, white currant bushes, and more.
Trade & Transport
Trade:
Trade within the kingdom usually occurs within Filarion Plaza because that's where all the stalls are located. Traders sell their wares to the natives throughout the week, which gets them their income. When the gates of C'avarnia open to outsiders during special events or sacred days, traders exceed in their sales, making more and more each time with what they bring in. This, in turn, provides more finance to the kingdom, allowing traders to expand their contributions and reap what they sow. The Homes of Thorns within Veanno also have a few trading establishments throughout their community. These are a lot smaller compared to the capitals.
Transport:
Transport of the land mainly consists of horseback riding and wagon management. Horses are used for long-distance destinations with only a courier riding on them if a Nagtaive is unavailable to utilise. On the other hand, Wagons are used with horses to carry heavier items that require two or more horses to pull them.
If the message is urgent or highly confidential, and experienced Caelorian Incline soldier is sent with the message/item on the back of a stallion for the sake of swift delivery.
Education
The education of House Tythal is similar to the elves of C'avarnia. See as below:
Training from Birth:
As soon as an elfling can write, they also wield their first weapon. Most wield a dagger or short sword then progress to what they are comfortable with. After they are well versed in writing, they are taught to be efficient with weapons of all kinds within the kingdom. They are trained to fight with spears, short swords and shields. This prepares them for the challenges they will face during their teenage and adult years. Each elfling is also taught hand-to-hand combat until they are proficient enough to beat their peers and mentors in practice. This training gives them the skills to survive before they venture far from the kingdom. This introductory training also takes place until after joining their national service field within the Varcanai Guard.
The Caelorian Incline:
Those who continue to train will be transferred to the traditional Caleorian Incline, where they will learn the advanced ways of their ancestors through thorough practise and weapons of their choice. Mentors practise with them both individually and in a group to widen their offensive and defensive training skills. It involves meditation and vigorous combat. The only training that allows for the drawing of blood. They are taught parkour and how to use martial arts in swordplay, how to use shields to create platforms to jump from, how to use shields as a multi-purpose object and more. Their martial arts training takes years to perfect, which takes a great deal of devotion and commitment. Once their mentors believe them to be ready, those in the Caelorian Incline are given the option to stay until they deem themselves fit enough to leave, choose a different occupation, or to serve in the upper ranks of the Varcanai Guard, providing them with more responsibility and passing on knowledge to those without the relevant training.
The Varcanai Guard/Caelorian Incline/Howlite Clan:
Though these are military organisations, they have all been described by veterans as a large family that teaches one another how to survive in the world both professionally and personally. Throughout elves' time in their military groups, they will learn the basics of living and contributing to the kingdom. This allows for a trusty and reliable militarised force.
The Glazed Temple:
The Glazed Temple is home to the Varcanai Healers, D'ivalorth, Vythai, and the Promised Heralds, where each member is highly proficient in their field of expertise.
The Varcanai Healers:
The Varcanai Healers of the kingdom open their doors to anyone who would like to gain knowledge in the art of medicine and healing, providing education in all the sciences and research skills. They are based on the ground floor of the temple. Varcanai Healers often take on new scholars who want to use their compassion and gentle hearts to help others through selfless acts of kindness and travel the world, which is a perk of being a medicinal scholar. Inexperienced/new scholars are taken on every few hundred years to pass their knowledge down to. This, in turn, keeps the Varcanai Healers in operation and allows their healing properties to be used on those who cannot help themselves.
The Varcanai Healers are sometimes shown incredibly intellectual elflings who want to learn more in the art of medicine so are offered reading materials to study alongside their national service duration. Once their time is over, they can learn more within the Glazed Temple if they want to become a fully-fledged Varcanai Healer themselves and get practical with the more challenging operations under supervision. They are given a 1-1 ceremony of celebration with the Lead Varcanai Healer, who offers the new healers their official uniform and badge of authentication. When they are proficient enough to perform independently, leadership is removed.
The D'ivalorth and Vythai:
The D'ivalorth and Vythai are always elfa's. These two are the chosen protectors of knowledge within the kingdom of Aethel Caeloria, as selected by the Seed specifically. They and the Promised Heralds are located on the upper floors of the Glazed Temple but are primarily situated within Incrementum, the most extensive library on the planet.
The D'ivalorth:
The D'ivalorth is the Guardian of all knowledge within Aethel Caeloria and the smartest elfa on Caede Galair. She has the knowledge of all the ages through the power of the Starlight Veil. Everyone feels at ease approaching the D'ivalorth because of how supportive and encouraging she is. While she is a high elf, she is not as aversive to outsiders compared to the natives. She is more compassionate and empathetic, which pairs with her nurturing and optimistic personality. These characteristics help when passing knowledge onto elflings. A lot of education comes from the D'ivalorth, where she primarily comes into contact with teens and adults. She can make everyone feel at ease and generally comfortable in her presence, which is another factor that draws elves in. Her teaching methods are not dull because she makes her lessons enjoyable.
The Vythai:
The Vythai is the Tender of Scrolls within Aethel Caeloria and is the assistant to the D'ivalorth. The Vythai teaches elfling's of the kingdom, following in the footsteps of the D'ivalorth making fundamental lessons fun, engaging, and enjoyable to learn. The homework she sets is often more creative, which helps the elflings to learn faster. She also considers that not all elflings learn the same way, so she will try different methods to ensure everyone understands what she is teaching. This is one of her most outstanding qualities, offering more than one solution.
The Promised Heralds:
In Aethel Caeloria, there is a well-regarded group called 'The Promised Heralds,' who are the keepers of knowledge. They are known throughout the lands. One scholar from each kingdom must come forth to complete this consortium as they'll provide guidance to each kingdom through their findings and discover new scriptures and tomes etc, once new ones make their way into Incrementum through trade and travel.
The Virtuous Order:
The Virtuous Order allows anyone to walk through The Haven of Solaris to teach elves the way of Nelaeryn. Elflings, teens, adults, and elders alike may enter to learn about Nelaeryn and his teachings. As elfling's are often much more fascinated by the world, they enter the doors to learn about their God and have a system of belief once they leave it, which usually has them returning and visiting to learn more.
The Aalarelai and Tythal Bloodline:
Though the royal bloodline and leading family mostly contend to the needs of their lands, when they are found alone or have spare time, they are often approached by citizens to help them with educational matters, which they don't mind doing at all. Knowledge means everything to the people of Aethel Caeloria, so teaching civilians about issues and issues of the world and history is something they will willingly and happily do.
Infrastructure
The Infrastructure of the House Tythal's lands are relatively simple:
- Tharnhim Castle: This towering structure withholds the leading family and horse stables, the prized possessions of all the lands.
- Twin Peak Watchtowers: These towers are made of stone and are identical, forming on the corners of Tharnhim Castle.
- Sewage: This is controlled through drains found throughout the land. The sewage of the Homes of Thorns is filtered then released beyond the Ca'rthavial Vales to ensure no harm comes to the waters and sea life.
- Roads/Pathways: All roads within the Homes of Thorns are connected, leading out towards Tharnhim Castle a few miles away. From there, the streets expand out towards House M'ithai, the Ca'rthavial Vales, and C'avarnia.
- The Thorn's Gate: Underneath the entrance into Tharnhim Castle is a reinforced door made from two layers of Wien wood.
Mythology & Lore
House Tythal primarily follow the mythology of C'avarnia:
- The Old Kings Return
- A Tale of Three Warriors
- The Coming of Three Warriors
- The Fallen Rise
- Through Bark and Wood
Divine Origins
All myths throughout Aethel Caeloria were written and rumoured during and after the War of Faiths in 233 NE. Once the Forsaken were defeated, tales of kingly returns emerged from beneath the surface and lived on through the many generations giving the elves of the kingdom something to be hopeful for should anything apocalyptic ever return to plague their lands and lives.

Currency
The Currency of House Tythal is in line with C'avarnia:
The primary currency is known as 'Avirial.' (A-veer-real) Avirial is a thin saer (silver) or wien (wooden) coin with a small avial gemstone embedded into the centre. Tree-like indentations are branching out towards the edges of the coin, giving it the significance of the kingdom's sacred monument, The Starlight Veil. Unlike many other domains, Aethel Caeloria mainly specialises in exchanging gemstones. The rarer the gem, the more valuable it is. If someone possesses a specialised avial gemstone, they are considered wealthy.
Many things throughout the kingdom are expensive, but affordable stalls are also available. Most traders will take gemstones if others do not possess Avirial coins. Still, Varcanian traders are highly trained in negotiation and getting the best price for their items, often making compromise challenging but not impossible.
Two Types of Coin:
- Avirial: These are the standard coins, either saer or wien and have a small avial gemstone in the centre.
- Raw Avial: These are rare coins with smooth saer and wien materials on the coin with a slightly larger avial gemstone in the centre. The raw avial gemstone is Aethel Caeloria's most sacred stone as it holds the light of the stars within the very centre, making it incredibly valuable and sought after. It is also highly destructive with a blinding light. It is the firmest belief of purity for the high elves, making it exceptionally unique and desirable among traders and the kingdom.
- Avirial Coin = £10 GBP
- Raw Avirial Coin = £1000 GBP
Major Exports
House Tythal exports elflings and elves to the Varcanai Guard as a part of their household contribution. They also produce, contribute and redistribute their edible resources sharing them with the Ivory Orchid Tavern, Aalarelai bloodline and House M'ithai. As a result, House Tythal are paid handsomely and can share that wealth with their people for their efforts and hard work.
Major Imports
All imports of House Tythal come from the royal family, who distribute resources equally and fairly. House Tythal do not have to concern themselves with import.
Legislative Body
House Tythal follows the laws and customs of C'avarnia to an extent:
There are four categories of crime that have consequences and punishments as conformed by the reigning sovereign. The reigning monarch, Elders of Claritas, and the Virtuous Order deal and resolve any crimes within the kingdom. All minor offences are passed through the Virtuous Order within the Haven of Solaris initially; then, the High Priest/Priestess reports their findings onto the Elders of Claritas who pass judgement. For any average/heinous crimes, it goes straight to the Elders of Claritas and the reigning King who pass judgement through Freedom's Pass.

Judicial Body
The Elders of Claritas and the Virtuous Order are the judicial bodies of the kingdom who uphold out the laws of the land. The Varcanai Guard ensure the laws are maintained throughout the lands of Aethel Caeloria.
Executive Body
The Varcanai Guard is the executive body that enforces the rules. The Commander and Captain make sure every member of the guard knows the crimes and their corresponding punishments off by heart to ensure they apply the correct consequence to the crime. These rules are passed over to the Caelorian Incline to ensure each leading associate knows what can and cannot be done.
