Purpose / Function
Dilax Crypt offers the Aalarelai bloodline the chance to see life through their ancestors' eyes and revisit memories scorched into the pages of the Caelorian Annals. The purpose is to allow the memories of Aalarelai to come to life through inner visions/dream-like states, offering them a moment of peace and respite away from the world's demands.
For those who have lost loved ones, it is a form of remembrance and closure.
Alterations
No alterations have been made to Dilax Crypt, for the room is entirely natural. The walls are stable, and the waters remain pure and untouched by anyone other than the Aalarelai bloodline, who ensure hygiene is the highest priority before stepping into it.
Architecture
Dilax Crypt has had no modifications for thousands of years because it is a natural landmark. The rocky walls around the enclosed room are firm, with no signs of crumbling from age. The roof is relatively hollow too, but overall the space is perceived as closely comfortable from the Aalarelai bloodline. See features below:
- The Entrance: The entrance to Dilax Crypt is relatively narrow and low, so the Aalarelai bloodline often has to arch their backs forward and keep their head down low when leaving and entering.
- The Rocky Walls: The walls of Dilax Crypt are natural, firm, and untouched.
- Stone Steps: Three smooth stone steps descended into the submerging waters.
- Flooring: The flooring is smooth, allowing the Aalarelai bloodline with little discomfort.
- The Water: The water is usually clear, but radiates a white glow underneath it when certain memories are particularly potent or nostalgic. The more powerful, heartbreaking, or sentimental the memory, the lighter the waters will glow.
- The Stone Stand: This was cursed by age and slowly crumbled with every use. The stand was plain but offered an elevated position for the tome to rest on.
- The Saer Chain: Covering the Caelorian Annals was rustic and aged, locking the tome before and after use.
- The Caelorian Annals: This tome was leather white with saer leaf-like decorations. In the book's centre was the Sigil oh House Aalarelai in front of the Starlight Veil.
- Pages of the Tome: Crispy appearance and cold to the touch. The ink was a saer and bright starlight, making it readable only by the Aalarelai bloodline.
Defenses
Dilax Crypt is protected by two Varcanai Guards standing guard, who alternate once in the day and once at night. This is because the crypt is incredibly important to the Aalarelai bloodline.
History
2998 NE:
- Construction of the Caelorian Palace: The front of Jujinal Wall is excavated for the placement of the Caelorian Palace, consisting of four floors and one crypt.
- Through Light and Shadow: A mystical tome detailing the Hyphicen, T’wiphray, and Aegean Serpents is written in starlight ink.
- The Caelorian Crypt: A crypt was excavated beneath the Caelorian Palace.
- Aethel Caeloria created a Royal Book: The Caelorian Annals was created
- The Crypts Reveal: The Crypt was renamed Dilax Crypt
- The Caelorian Annals Moved: King Dilax Aalarelai moved the Caelorian Annals from the royal palace to the Caelorian Vault.
- Names of the Crypt: Over time, the high elves called Dilax Crypt the Caelorian Vault, for it withheld something of great value inside; the Caelorian Annals.
- The Inks Misfortunes
- The Caelorian Annals Locked: The Saer chain on the book tightens and turns black, engulfed in shadow at the touch of the Ashen.
- The Waters of Dilax: The waters of Dilax Crypt overpowered the shadow chains on the Caelorian Annals, climbing up the stone stand and restoring it to its original state through light and a crushing force.
- The Oceanic T’wiphray: Dilax crypt erected an elven-sized water-made T’wiphray to protect the vault. The ashen tried to enter on many occasions, but the water-filled T’wiphray drowned them without hesitation and turned them into ash with hot starlight-filled waters.
- The Oceanic T’wiphray Put to Rest: Once the War of Faith’s had ended, the Dilax Crypts waters had returned into the enclosed room, and the water-filled T’wiphray had become no more.
- The Crypts Reveal: During Dilax Aalarelai’s reign, he discovered an empty room below the Royal Palace. Within this room were shallow waters and a stone stand in the centre. This became a place only the Aalarelai bloodline could access and was also where the Caelorian Annals were kept. He placed his bare feet inside the waters and was greeted by his ancestors in a vivid dream-like state.
- The Inks Misfortunes: This was a pre-warning of the Forsaken’s arrival. Most inked words in books became scrambled or illegible and remained this way.
Tourism
Tourism is not permitted within Dilax Crypt as it is the private property of the Aalarelai bloodline.
Dilax Crypt: This is a private place where the Aalarelai bloodline can revisit old memories and see the accomplishments of their ancestors through their eyes in a dream-like vision. It serves as a place of peace, remembrance, and nostalgia.
Caelorian Annals: This tome records all the Ca'rthavial bloodline's accomplishments and sacred memories they had over their time in sovereignty.
Dilax Aalarelai's Discovery: in 1300 NE, King Dilax Aalarelai discovered the crypt, turning it into a natural room for the Aalarelai bloodline and placing the Caelorian Annals onto the stone stand where it rested perfectly.

Author's Notes
"I think people tend to forget that while people die, their memories last forever, and that's what I wanted Dilax Crypt to represent. Crypts generally remind me of a burial place but I wanted it to be more nostalgic. Therefore, I made it a place of memory and significance solely to the Aalarelai bloodline, who endure so much but don't seem to get that time to themselves to relax and simply remember the good times."
