The Reading of Fate

The team are in Eshbach when a young woman named Madame La Fayette approaches them. She has recently came into some information that they can use to their advantage. Sh also warns that she is due to leave for Aachen in a day or so, and any follow up may need to wait. What they do in the meantime is up to them.   They are told that there is a fiend of great evil is the highest ranking creatuer of the Hag coven and that she has a magical sword hidden away that she uses the very odd time. Also, the coven uses a twisted evil dragon when they have difficulty manipulating locals to target spellcasters or getting magic items they want.   On top of this they are informed that a "Merchant" and a Khan are both vying for an ancient mask from an old destert kingdom. One that is hidden in an old city in a forest called the Bohemian Massif in the east. If found it can be used for evil instead of good. The city was an old outpost of an ancient serpent worshipping cult. it is hinted that it is for either personal use,or sold to a High Elf.   Other information concerns that the family of Hans, Greta, and Jacob are being spied on by the coven. Something to do with the coven want a contact in the town. The yhave also placed a a small group of Dark Fey hidden away in the wilderness surrounding the town as well. They are preying on the odd traveller coming & going to Eschbach.   They are also told that it is possible to get the coven separately to make it easier. Also, that the sword is regularly stored in one of two places, a house in the Feywild, or a treasury room in a ruined old city.   The mask is mentioned to be in an undergorund chamber in the forest city. It is protected by a powerful individual and hard to get to.
