The Proposal
The party gets side-tracked in Orleans when passing through this city. Arne gets a proposal he may not want to miss.
Plot points/Scenes
At the start Braya and maybe Tedha are reunited, and the party has to decide to leave them in Southern Britain. Either way they will be safe though safer if they travel to Eschbach. There they may find that it is harder for Lord Geoffrey to get at them.
Either way, when travelling back to Eschbach they get stopped in Orleans. There the guards are suspicious of them being from Eschbach thinking the party is spying, especially on de Rais assets. They may try to flee but find that the guards start to close down the city and surrounding region.
They are took to a barracks on the grounds of the de Rais estate in the west of the city and kept there. They are threatened as well, if they act up they may be dragged to the dungeons below the estate and held there, stripped of everything and held in a cell with an Antimagic Field on it.
Gabriel and her brother Malaric will question them, preferably in a room on the estate in the main building. There they will find if they have any information that may be of use to the de Rais as to troop movements, and the ruling elite of Eschbach. Anything negative will be noted.
Also, Gabrielle will try to recruit them as spies for her family and offer them riches. More so if she can track down a Hag... Granny Barrowbye. She mutters something about a curse on her family placed by Barrowbye and her Coven.
She may try to seduce Archi & Magnar (DC 17 Charisma saving throw). If so, she will try to get them to marry her pretty quickly after a day or so in her house or dungeon. The wedding has to be consummated or the victim kept until it happens. Gabrielle will allow them to go back to Eschbach with a special wedding ring with a magic gem in the centre. It acts like an eye allowing her to spy through it personally.
Any "exploration" or bad behaviour by them will result in the grounds being locked down and Antimagic Fields being activated throughout, the guards will search for them, and possible bodily harm may be liberally applied. Gabrielle and Malaric take their security very seriously, and any damage to their grounds will also be severely dealt with.
If the players are smart enough they may try to work out ways to get out and escape. At the same time they may find that after a while they will be let go. This may be quicker if recruited as spies.
Either way, when they find themselves back in Eschbach they will be questioned by the council, and Grimmaz. If they think the party or individual is compromised, they may be labelled a traitor and face execution. If not, they could find they are regularly followed and spied on by the local authorities.
They will find out that the de Rais have sent a message before letting the Eschbach Authorities know that Archi, or maybe even Magnar, has married Gabrielle.
