The Ludger Eschbach Blacksmiths

Agni, being the more experienced of the Ludgers in the Eschbach forge, was trained by Duke Grimmaz Fyrwin's friend Childeric Ludger and has been black smithing for over 120 years of his 137 years. Starting in the stronghold's allied to the Frankish Empire, he was trained in the arts of metal working from the age of 5 onwards. A generalist, Agni can turn his hand to producing any item out of metal. To bear his mark it has to be of very good or higher quality.

Alibrand is about 10 years younger at 127 years old and had followed the Ludger clan tradition into blacksmithing. He specialises more in making weapons of different type, with both his swords & axes being great works of military art. He is known for being a fast working smith and able to churn out workable and serviceable weaponry when asked to but it does rankle him, and prefers to take his time making top of the range weapons that sells for 100s if not 1000s of gold when he can.

Sindri is the youngest of the three being 94 years old, again being trained in the Ludger style of blacksmithing. When it comes to specialisation, he is an expert armourer and probably the most patient out of the three, producing chainmail like no other for miles around, and even knows how to make plate armour, though he rarely advertises this. Only other Dwarves dare ask him to make plate mail unless instructed by a higher ranking clan member.

Wigbrand is a 41 year old member of the Ludger clan and recently sent to the Eschbach Blacksmiths. Having trained in the Ludger stronghold, and for 10 years with Childeric, he has been deemed needing extra training and thus he finds himself being sent to the others. He is young enough to still learn many specialties, and he is learning quickly. On top of this, he is known to have extensive experience of Dwarven forges, spotting what types of metals are available, their melting points, what they are used for and how to smelt them correctly to get the best ingots out of ores.

So far all of the Dwarves of the blacksmiths are industrious and well liked. All of them have the Ludger trait of referring to their family, friends, customers and the like, as 'Laddie' & 'Lassie'. As to how this started is still unknown, but most overlook it knowing the smiths are able to churn out products most would kill for, in a few cases literally.

They have helped to build up the town of Eschbach supplying the metal items such as nails and tools in quick order. They have stayed producing general goods, weapons, armour, farming tools, and items for other professions such as the leather workers, carpenters, brewers, and dyers with ease.

They also maintain the Burgeaters armoury, repairing weapons & armour or replacing those pieces that are missing or damaged beyond repair.
