The Crown of the Eye

The Crown of the Eye is a myth at least to many. According to myth, it was created by the Lemurians in the Hyperborean Age, and used to spy on the common people. The ruler of the Lemurians would use it when in private and along with a number of their enforcers & mages. There they would be able to pick up where there was a chance of rebellion, or hoarding of either treasure or resources.

Thought lost when the Hyperborean Age ended after the break up of Pangea, and the First Men moved to their hidden places. The crown was meant to have been passed from one tribe of First Men to another, and now is rumoured to be somewhere in the Underdark deep below central Europe.

This cannot be verified at best. No specific sightings have ever been documented in millennia, so it could be further afield or even destroyed. Those that claim to have encountered it point to being in a treasure hoard hidden away and never used.

Many would-be leaders, whether nobles, bandit-kings, crime boss or ones similar, lust after such an item allowing them to spy like the rulers of the First Men. The power to spy on groups is appealing even to thieves and other ne'er-do-wells allowing them to target individuals or whole groups to control, rob, kill or just to dominate.
