The Baobhan Sith Experiment
Archi gets to experiment with the Baobhan Sith. What could possibly go wrong?
Plot points/Scenes
Archi gets to work getting the Baobhan Sith programmed as a spy. By doing so he needs to get it on-side and workable in the correct body running with the correct spirit. When researching he will need to get any materials used in the process. He has to hunt around town and have the other players help seek them out.
They can assemble the ingredients & equipment at the apothecary, though they will hear that one thing that will help even better as a focus is a Shadow Crystal. Found in an old vault that is rumoured to be sitting below the new town. There is an entrance hidden below one of the shops in the north near the Library.
They can try in either Eostre's shop or Aimec's shop. In the basement of one of them they will find an old Roman door. It has a carving in stone at the top of a raven's head with a hood. Written in Latin is the following:
solum umbra timidi possunt intrare
If they work this out they will find that Arne can open it and as long as he remains inside, the floor will remain open.
They will find a raised platform and a Shadow Crystal, looking like smoky quartz. It is carved in the form of a Raven's head with a Hood over it.
When picking it up the door closes and the platform releases a raven's screech causing the players to need to take a DC 15 Constitution saving throw, or be Deafened for 1 hour.
They can use it now but find a small inscription on it saying that it needs a kiss from a known lover of many. This hints at if they get Ishild, the mistress of the bawdyhouse to kiss it to use it.
If they don't and Archi tries to use it, 2 1d4 Baobhan Sith may be drawn to the ritual and attack. If they do then they will be fine.
At this time the group as a whole has the chance to get the Baobhan Sith resurrected and persuaded to be a spy. For this they may need some type of sacrifice. It is likely this will involve blood being poured onto the Shadow Crystal, or the equivalent. It has to be took from anyone who is involved with the 'programming' of the Baobhan Sith.
Of they don't, they may be attacked by 2 1d4 shadows and/or a darker entity enters the Baobhan Sith instead. This will deliberately corrupt orders, supply information to the enemy, and cause major problems around the town where it can.
Other than that they are pretty much successful.
