Staff of the Cycle

Staff of the Cycle

Wondrous Item

Rare Can only be attuned by a Druid

This staff can be wielded as a magic quarterstaff that grants a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it. While holding it, you have a +2 bonus to spell attack rolls

The staff has 10 charges for the following properties. It regains 1d6 + 4 expended charges daily at dawn. If you expend the last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, the staff loses its properties and becomes a nonmagical quarterstaff

Spells: You can use an action to expend 1 or more of the staff's charges to cast one of the following spells from it, using your spell save DC: Healing Word (1 Charge), Cure Wounds (1 Charge), Lesser Restoration (2 Charges), Wither and Bloom (2 Charges), Aura of Vitality (3 Charges), Blight (4 Charges), Greater Restoration (4 Charges), Insect Plague (5 Charges), Heal (6 Charges)

You can also cast the spells Infestation, Sapping Sting, and Spare the Dying without using a chargeĀ

Mushroom Circle: When you speak the command words and plant the staff into the ground, the staff sprayed spores around it from which sprouts a ring of 2d10 mushrooms in a 20 foot radius. Half of these mushrooms have healing properties, while the other half are poisonous.

Goodshrooms: These delectable looking mushrooms have the equivalent effects of a Goodberry spell, healing 1 Hit Point and satiating hunger like you've eaten a full day's meals.

Death Angel: These bright yellow mushrooms are deadly missiles, full of toxic spores that explode in a cloud when thrown like a grenade or launched from a Sling. The mushrooms use your spellcasting DC, and have a range of 60 feet, while the spores when exploded fills a 10 foot radius. When a creature either starts their turn in the cloud, or enters the cloud, they must make a Constitution save or be dealt 2d6 of either poison or necrotic damage (your choice when the staff is planted). The spores last for 1 minute before disappearing and losing potency.

Speaking the command world again would disenchant any leftover mushrooms and return the staff to its normal form. This property refreshes after a long rest.

Can be used as a Druidic or Arcane Focus.
