Ozymandias
There is a man found throughout many Germanic speaking regions with a reputation. A bard by trade, he was originally a thief and doing odd jobs. Stories, myths and legends swirl about his birth and early life giving him an air of mystique to him.
Summary
Ozymandias was born in the industrial area of Parisius. During his birth, his mother is meant to have given birth to a headless bat at the same time. The myth soon spread, that he was to be able to use his voice in odd or strange ways and have the hearing of a bat too. He has never confirmed nor denied this myth.
Strangely, when young he tried his hand at working with metal, leather, weaving and dying cloth when young but couldn't do any of these well enough. Taking to crime, it turned out he wasn't much good at this either.
Trying to change his life around he took up singing and had a unique voice along with specialising in darker lyrics & themes. Most have a religious context or anti-war themes, especially in recent years during the Saxon Wars.
His looks and his left field humour with his outlook on life has contributed to the myth of his birth.
A number of the youth that has read him has rallied round, creating a fan base for Ozymandias. Many have took up trying to copy his style while adding in elements of music from other sources. Many of the higher classes look down on them and their idol thinking that it is against their social, religious and cultural beliefs. Seen as a bad influence on society they spread their own myths to denigrate his reputation.
Historical Basis
Loosely based on Ozzy Osbourne (RIP), but then, he hasn't even been born yet.
Spread
Spread throughout mainland Frankia and Saxony, it has been found in Scandinavia and Anglo-Saxon lands.
Variations & Mutation
The myth regularly replaces the bat with a dove, and in rare cases, other small animals.
Cultural Reception
Most of society take this with a grain of salt. Most don't place any stock in it, but there is always the odd outlier.
