Near East Languages - Current & Ancient

With the rise of Islam, there is a strong Arabic tradition in reading & writing in that language in the Near East. That there are other languages is undeniable though. There is Persian & Hebrew that are still used, and there is an estimation that older languages are still spoken from a time when at least 30 to maybe even 50 was spoken across the region.
