Personal history
Fenric grew up in a nomadic desert tribe in Central Arabys, with his actual name being Hemtat. Within the tribe, they all acted as a large family, cooperating and working together for survival. Fenric lived a good childhood, loved and accepted by his tribe. He grew to be a strong warrior, leading many successful raids on rival tribes and enemies. He led his tribe to a reputation of being the strongest tribe in the south. When he was 18 however, he made enemies with the wrong people. He led the tribe on a raid of the southernmost Terrellun City, not knowing that is was under control by the Landi Cartel. Because Fenric’s tribe had never raided a city before, they failed, and retreated back into the desert. However, the Landi Cartel did not let the incident pass by. They retaliated, fiercely, severely, and unmercifully. They ambushed the entire tribe, taking them by surprise. Everyone was slaughtered, the women, the children, the elders. Everyone except Hemtat. He was taken back to the city, now a prisoner of the Cartel.
Hemtat remained a prisoner with the Landi Cartel, as a slave, forced to do tasks like produce Mordryn, the Cartels primary drug output. This involved going deep into mines, searching for the mineral the drug is sourced from, then slaving away in the furnaces, heating the mineral to insane temperatures. He did this for years, his hate for the Cartel growing day by day. During this time, he met many other slaves in the same situation as him, even other tribespeople. The grew to depend on each other, and made slave work a little more bearable. After a couple years, the group of slaves had planned an uprising, to escape the clutches of Kallo Tellivar, the leader of the Cartel. After waiting for the perfect moment, the small group struck at the heart of the cartel, fighting back against the people who had controlled them for so long. They were succeeding, and had reached the chamber of Tellivar. But inside waiting for them were Tellivar, and his most powerful Kallifangs. It was a slaughter as terrible as the first time, and once again, Hamtut watched as his new family died in front of him. He had lost everything, so had nothing to lose as he charged at Kallo, brutally beating the leader of the Cartel to death. He killed every Kallifang who tried to avenge their fallen leader, until the remaining saw the futility of the situation. In an effort of self-preservation, their pledged allegiance to Hamtut. But he did not stop. He killed every Kallifang in the chamber, until he was alone. He walked out of that room as Fenric meaning (vengeful father), and the new leader of the Landi Cartel, so help anyone questioning otherwise.
Fenric had grown the Cartel for many years before he met Ezra. He had fought many battles wiht other cartels often resulting in violent outcomes, and had control over a large portion of Terrellun and southwestern Arabys. But it was Ezra who helped him become the powerful leader of the Bloodsand Syndicate. They first met when the Arch Kento of Terrellun requested negotations with Fenric. The Kento desired peace, or semblance of it, but had nothing to bargain with, as the Terrellun Kenton was weak, and could not back up their threats. However, the Kento's daughter, a young women named Ezra, volunteered herself to go with Fenric in exchange for a end of violence acts in Terrellun cities. However, Ezra was very ambitious, as well as a very powerful Psionic. With the combined efforts of Fenric and Ezra, the Cartel grew larger and more powerful, as well as more inconspicuous. Using various methods of "convincing," they absorbed numerous other criminal organizations, and formed the Bloodsand Syndicate, which grew to the most powerful criminal organization in Arabys, if not the world, with their tendrils of influence expanding across cities on every continent.
Fenric and Ezra had three children during their rule. Cynthia was their firstborn daughter, clever and resourceful, had a good relationship with her mother, who taught her to used words as weapons, and when necessary, a dagger. Jonric, the second, was the only son of Fenric, who tried to teach him the ways of a leader and warrior, but Jonric didn’t find interest in it, which led to some tension between the father and son. Then Ezra became pregnant with their last child. Before the child was born, Ezra know they were going to be different. During birth, the child manifested its power unexpectedly, and Ezra died in the process. Her death left Fenric devastated, losing his most beloved. While the child, Ezmaya, grew up, becoming a very powerful Psionic akin to her mother, Fenric searched for answers, a way to bring his family to what it once was. His grief overcame him, and he began to lose control of his emotions, his temper, and his power. People saw this weakness, and many, both inside and outside the Syndicate, tried to exploit it. There were many attempts on his life, but the people loyal to him, including his daughter Cynthia, kept him alive. But Cynthia also saw the weakness in her father, and questioned how long Fenric could successfully remain in power for.
During this time, Fenric sent resources far and wide for a way to bring back his beloved Ezra, all to no avail. Then, one night, he dreamed of a Rose-Coloured Crystal buried deep, sealed away in a tomb. Inside the Crystal, he saw her. He searched for this tomb, and the Crystal, for months. Spending time, resources and money on ripping up the ground, searching for a single crystal. Then, one day, Fenric himself found the ancient tomb. He took the crystal in his hands and looked for Ezra inside it. Instead he saw a single eye, and then blacked out, and had a vision. Pink, crystallite tendrils shot through his body, and a single eye stared into him. But, after all of this, he saw Ezra. Standing there, in the black. But that was all he needed. He knew finding this crystal would bring him to Ezra. He would receive more visions from the crystal, and after unearthing the crystal, more of the Rose Zeccanite started appearing in different places. He set his resources into acquiring the crystals, experimenting with them, and spreading the crystal across the world. It became the Bloodsand Syndicate's main focus. It continued this way, spreading the Zeccanite and and making it more addictive, until an Alchemist for the Syndicate, known as Blackfox, had an operation in Eastern Dekrain that caught the attention of an Inquisitor named Maner Roman.
