Founding of Azmat-zol

Founding

The Dwarven fortress of Azmat-zol was founded near Arethian city of Azmat. This fortress was made mainly to protect the Dwarves from unwanted Arethian bandits. Additionally it provided the basis for the Arethians to leave Azmat to go across the mountains.

Azmat was plagued by duststorms following rapid desertification of the region. Desperate Arethians in search of food raided Dwarven settlements in the mountains. The Dwarves retaliated by marching on Azmat but were met with a duststorm that stopped them in their tracks. The Dwarves realized that Azmat was already a dying city and instead of destroying it decided to help the people of Azmat. In exchange for labor the people of Azmat would be given safe passage. The people were put to work in the lands around Gilmas, which would turn into a Dwarven controlled city with mainly Humans.
