Scarred Gold
In the Scarred Jungle they don't use normal gold coins, instead they use something they call Scarred Gold. These coins are made from tumbaga, a gold-copper alloy. They would then treat the coin with acid, a process called depletion-gilding, making the coins golden on the surface. The coins have different shapes perforated into them corresponding to the mint where they were produced. Some are simple shapes like a triangle, others are complex, not fully perforated like a figure 8 where only the central X is fully perforated. These perforations also made it easy to discern whether you're dealing with normal coinage or with tumbaga coinage that just looks golden.
These coins can also be found in the western regions of Taleth, where the Toadkin used to live.
