Old Haven

Old haven was the common language of Haven Time and is a proto language to many modern languages now. It is not currently in use and there are no native speakers.

In the Age of Haven, Old Haven extended across the whole world and became the default language of trade, culture and knowledge. While there were other languages around at that time, they were specific to their region or people and did not see great use outside of their immediate area.

Languages like Bairn, Druidic, Gnome, Grippli, Primoridal, Sand Speech, Undertongue, and Wind Speech maintained their own structure, and are still in use today.

In the Age of Aerith, Old Haven was replaced by Starspeak, the official language of Starhelm City. The incredible expanse of trade, culture, and influence allowed Starspeak to dominate the continent of Starhelm, and even beyond, though it did not replace any languages in the other continents of Abereith, Cha'lla, Dovak, or Sangor.

Starspeak takes it main roots and structure from Old Haven but was also influenced by many cultures across the land.

After the Fractioning, Starspeak usage dropped considerably, but the continued use of it in Essillion allowed many of its roots and structures to be maintained in their official language of Kingstongue. Heavily influenced by Avariel, and Gnome, Kingspeak became the language of the area, though not as widespread as any of its predecessors.

As trade began to increase between Hollow's Point in the north and Stonebridge in the south, the language of the Vale became dominant, overtaking Kingstongue. Valespeak is a mixture of Starspeak, Gnome, Druidic, Primordial, Kingstongue, Avariel, and Draconic, borrowing many words, phrases, and idioms from the cultures of the Vale.
