Ketra
Ketra
Ketra is a svartala feysmith of great import in the Elinnic capital, Zakhara. She has lived there since the year 6552, after fleeing the Svartali Confederacy and her status as a rebel there during the Confederate-Fallian War. Few Elinnic svartali match Ketra's skill as a feysmith, since her upbringing and training come from the Svartali homelands; this has given her status and wealth even among the jinn of the capital city and Imperial Court.

Personal history
Ketra was born 6133 in the Svartali Confederacy and raised by a rural master of feysmithing. When she reached adulthood and attended one of the five Confederate academies for feysmithing, she excelled and was given her credential as a Master Feysmith at the comparatively young age of 85. Her career took her to the Confederate capital, where she was the chief of feysmithing design and invention for nearly a century. In 6305 she began working with the trade ministry to help study and regulate feystone trade with Falea. Here she began to rethink svartali prejudice about human inferiority; the Fallian scholars she worked with seemed to grasp feystone and nether energy theory rather well, despite being unable to use any for themselves. Certainly they leveraged the feystone trade to great national benefit, and under Ketra's rule an even more open line of culture and trade was possible between the Confederacy, Falea, and Elion.
Ketra's work with trade concluded in 6422 after the accumulation of great personal wealth. Her mate and several children had grown into a tightly knit family, with a further extended clan growing in social power. Ketra and her mate set off on a pilgrimage into the wilds to the south, exploring the Glaize and other magnificent parts of the continent Kosmor. It became clear to them that many of the remote parts of the world saw very few fell beasts, suggesting a correlation between population and fell interest. Tragedy struck in 6490 when two of Ketra's children were killed in an attack by shades, and the feysmith returned to her homeland where she was born. There she and her mate remained for decades, until Falea closed the feystone trade and war broke out.
The greed of the state was not a new concept for Ketra, but great civil unrest came with the conflict. During the Confederate Civil War, Ketra and her mate were pressured by their descendants to join a resistance movement against the more powerful established state. Ketra's participation in the rebellion resulted in the loss of her entire family. Defeated and outcast, Ketra fled the Confederacy in 6538. She worked in Falea for a short time, helping Fallian scholars with anti-enchantment defense strategies, before leaving and meandering the world for another decade. In 6552, she finally settle in Zakhara and began to live a quiet exiled life.
