Thunder Lichen

Thunder Lichen consists of a symbiotic relationship between a fungus and algae. It forms intricate, branching structures that cling to rocks, tree trunks, and other surfaces in its preferred habitat. The lichen's coloration is predominantly dark gray or black, providing a stark contrast against the natural surroundings.   What sets Thunder Lichen apart is its ability to produce small, crackling electrical discharges when exposed to moisture and atmospheric disturbances. This phenomenon is reminiscent of the sound and energy of thunder, earning the lichen its name. The discharges manifest as flickering sparks and miniature bolts of electricity, creating an awe-inspiring display of natural power.   During thunderstorms, Thunder Lichen becomes particularly active, absorbing the electrical energy present in the air and channeling it through its intricate network of filaments. This adaptation allows the lichen to utilize the electrical energy as a source of sustenance and growth. It is believed that the lichen's ability to harness electrical energy provides a competitive advantage in its environment.   Thunder Lichen tends to flourish in areas with high humidity and ample rainfall, such as forested regions and mountainous landscapes. Its presence is often associated with the majestic power of thunderstorms, and in some cultures, it is considered a symbol of protection and resilience against the forces of nature.
