Carthorn Hayzz

The Man of Many Birthdays Carthorn Hayzz (a.k.a. Nuzz)

Physical Description

Special abilities

Trace Identification is a rare ability possessed by only a select few individuals. It allows them to identify any animal or plant by even the tiniest trace, such as a single hair or a tiny fragment of a leaf. This ability is incredibly useful in a variety of fields, including forensics, biology, and ecology.   Those who possess Trace Identification have an incredibly keen sense of smell, sight, and touch, enabling them to detect even the slightest trace of an organism. They can use this ability to identify species that might be difficult to distinguish otherwise, such as closely related or hybrid species. This can be particularly useful in conservation efforts, as it allows researchers to accurately identify endangered or threatened species and track their populations.   In addition to its scientific applications, Trace Identification can also be useful in hunting and tracking. Hunters with this ability can track their prey with incredible accuracy, following even the faintest traces of their scent or physical remains. This has made Trace Identification a valuable skill among indigenous hunters and trackers, who have honed their abilities over generations.   Despite its usefulness, Trace Identification is a rare and often misunderstood ability. Some individuals may be ostracized or feared for possessing it, particularly if they are unable to control it or use it ethically. However, when used responsibly, Trace Identification can be a valuable tool for both scientific research and practical applications.

Apparel & Accessories

The outfit consists of a pair of knee-length athletic shorts made from a durable yet breathable material that allows for ease of movement. The shorts are a deep forest green color and are accented with gold embroidery along the hem and pockets.   A tool belt hangs loosely around the waist, adorned with an assortment of random but useful gadgets and trinkets. A small brass compass hangs from one of the loops, while a tiny vial filled with iridescent powder dangles from another. The belt itself is a rich brown leather, well-worn but still sturdy.   The socks are knee-high and intricately woven with a pattern of vines and leaves in various shades of green and brown. They are soft and comfortable, providing warmth and protection in even the harshest of environments.   The t-shirt is a soft cream color with the word "Hoshgen" written across the chest in bold, stylized letters. The letters are accented with tiny gold beads, giving the shirt an extra touch of elegance.   The owl necklace is a silver chain with a small, intricately detailed owl pendant. The owl has large, round eyes that seem to stare right into your soul, and its wings are outstretched as if it's about to take flight.   Carthorn's bandanna is a powerful symbol of his devotion to the goddess of plants, Botania. It is made from the finest silk and embroidered with the intricate patterns of various flowers and plants. The colors of the bandanna represent the different aspects of Botania's power, with shades of green for growth and vitality, blue for the life-giving properties of water, and hints of gold for the sun's warmth and energy.   Wearing the bandanna is a way for Carthorn to show his allegiance to Botania and to honor her in all of his actions. He wears it with pride as a reminder of the sacred bond he shares with the goddess of plants. For Carthorn, the bandanna is more than just a piece of cloth, it is a symbol of his identity as a druid and a follower of Botania.   In addition to its symbolic significance, the bandanna also has practical uses. It can be wrapped around Carthorn's face to protect him from dust, wind, and sunburn during his journeys through the wilderness. The silk material is breathable and comfortable, allowing him to wear it for long periods without discomfort.

Specialized Equipment

The Vineheart Warhammer is a legendary weapon that is wielded by Carthorn Hayzz, a human druid known for his incredible mastery over the forces of nature. The massive weapon is crafted from the living wood of the forest and imbued with powerful druidic magic, making it one of the most fearsome weapons in all of the land.   The gnarled and rough surface of living wood that makes up the head of the Vineheart Warhammer feels warm and alive beneath the grip. But what truly sets this weapon apart is its ability to heal itself when damaged, rendering it nearly indestructible. The handle of the hammer is wrapped with sentient thorn vines that not only provide additional grip and control but also have the magical property of grabbing enemies and pulling them towards the hammer. The thorn vines can even strike out at enemies with their sharp thorns, defending their wielder from harm.   Moreover, the Vineheart Warhammer has an incredible ability that only Carthorn Hayzz can wield. By kicking off with the thorn vines, he can use the hammer as a kickpoint to launch himself through the forest. With a swift swing of the hammer, Carthorn can send the vines shooting out to wrap around nearby trees, using them as a foothold to launch himself higher and higher through the canopy. The thorn vines stretch taut, carrying Carthorn with them as he bounces from tree to tree, covering great distances in moments.   But the Vineheart Warhammer's true power lies in its ability to control plant life. With a single swing, Carthorn can command vines and roots to ensnare his enemies, creating an impenetrable wall of plant life around him. When he raises the hammer aloft, he can feel the pulse of the forest and connect with the plant life around him in a way that no other weapon can. The Vineheart Warhammer is not just a weapon; it is a symbol of the power of nature and the skill of the druids who crafted it.

Wallace is a unique pet that Carthorn acquired during his travels. It's a crow with black feathers that can burst into flames upon its death, much like a phoenix. The flames that engulf Wallace are not harmful and seem to be a natural process that occurs when the crow dies.   After the flames subside, a small, fiery egg appears where Wallace once lay. This egg is as hot as lava and cannot be touched until it cools down. When the egg finally hatches, a new Wallace is born, ready to follow Carthorn on his adventures.   Wallace is fiercely loyal to Carthorn, and will defend him fiercely if need be. It has a keen intellect and seems to understand Carthorn's commands, although it can be mischievous at times. Despite its fiery nature, Wallace has a gentle side and can be quite affectionate towards Carthorn and anyone he deems worthy.
