The first gathering of humans after God left them.
After God left the humans, they gathered together into one place and named it Kii'Rahn, which roughly translates to "Place of Abandonment". Together they built a large city. As they explored their surroundings, it became known that they were on a small island only measuring about 5000 Square kilometers. Many tried to leave the island but were overcome by the vast ocean that surrounded them. The population grew steadily and so did their violence toward each other. Within the first 500 years, their population had outgrown the island. Being unable to sail, they culled the population by sending them out to sea on rafts, assuming the ocean would kill them. The people feared the ocean and called it the Unknown. Some worshiped the ocean as a god, and others saw it as God's punishment. Early on, the people formed the Cult of the Unknown. Every 10 years they would sacrifice an entire small coastal community to the ocean. They would enter the town or village and take the residents by force and tie them to trees. The trees would then be cut down and thrown into the sea, floating them out into the water. They believed that this would appease the Unknown and one day allow them to cross over into whatever may lie beyond. By the time they had lived on the island for 1500 years, the ocean began to rise. Every year, more of the island would sink. The Cult believed this to be the Unknown's way of telling them they hadn't sacrificed enough. Others believed that it was the end of the world. One particular coastal community went against the religion of the day and refused to believe that the Unknown was a vengeful god, but instead was just water and nothing more. They had been trying to learn how to sail for the past couple decades and had learned much about the sea and the way the tides work. Once it had become clear that the Island was sinking, they pursued the mastery of sailing even more. Together they built a ship in order to save their people and sail to a distant land. On the night of their departure, the Cult of the Unknown attacked and dragged away most of the villagers. However a group of about 50 people safely made it on board and set off from the land. They kept sailing and eventually found land after 5 months on the ocean. they were the first humans to successfully leave the island. Legends and stories call them the Kai'Lahn tribe, which roughly translates to The Ones Who Lived. Never again was the land of Kii'Rahn ever heard of, or found. It was assumed that the Island sunk along with all it's inhabitants.
