Smit, Inc. had a batch of
Steeljoints in
Capria that were virus-laden. The virus, which still has unknown origins, resulted in severe psychosis among the steeljoints who were part of the batch, leading to violence and chaos that ultimately resulted in a complete takeover of the city. This group of unhinged, violent steeljoints has dubbed itself
Severed Steel and continued to hunt and kill people to this day, resulting in difficulty conducting trade to Aldurstein via the train that runs past their society.
