Ogmauth - The Scaled Calamity
Lord Ogmauth (a.k.a. The Scaled Calamity)
Ogmauth, known as the Scaled Calamity, is the patron god of chromatic dragons and domination. As the tyrannical king of dragons, Ogmauth seeks to plunge the world into the reign of the second Dragon Empire, enslaving all other races under draconic rule. Born from the darkness in Bahamut's heart, Ogmauth was expelled from Bahamut's soul and now embodies the ruthless ambition and malevolent power that Bahamut cast away.
Ogmauth's symbols include a dragon's claw grasping a crown, a coiled dragon with eyes glowing with malice, and a scepter topped with a dragon's head, representing his dominion over dragons and his desire for absolute control. His attributes are domineering, ruthless, and ambitious, embodying the raw power and tyranny of the chromatic dragons.
As the god of chromatic dragons, Ogmauth is worshipped by the evil-aligned chromatic dragons who revere him as their supreme leader and strive to fulfill his vision of draconic dominance. A small number of members from other draconic races, such as kobolds and a few dragonborn, also worship Ogmauth, drawn to his promises of power and supremacy.
Ogmauth's origins lie in the heart of Bahamut, the god of metallic dragons and justice. When Bahamut recognized the darkness plaguing his heart, he expelled it, and that darkness took form as Ogmauth. Now, Ogmauth stands in stark opposition to Bahamut, seeking to establish a reign of terror and domination where Bahamut seeks justice and protection.
Legends speak of Ogmauth's relentless ambition to restore the Dragon Empire to its former glory, with him as the undisputed ruler. His presence is felt in places where dragons reign supreme and where the shadow of tyranny looms large.
