Session 85

Calantha advanced forward, sending her Sahuagin forward to attack the players. As the party filtered out onto the docks, Calantha used a spell to create a wave that knocked several people into the water. After getting out of the water, Dorin and Prenna were quickly surrounded by the bigger Sahuagin while Summer tried to whittle away at Calantha by making shots from the crow's nest of the Windrunner. Dain and Merrick put up a defensive on the docks, but were outnumbered and began to get overwhelmed. Calantha then ran forward and, as Summer popped up to take a shot at her, she used a scroll to unleash a Fireball at the crow's nest which, fortunately did not harm Summer, but the concussive force of the Fireball tore the crow's nest apart, sending Summer tumbling to the deck below. As Dorin and Prenna were increasingly becoming overwhelmed, both being knocked unconscious and fighting for their lives, Calantha walked past the battlefield, setting her sights on Dain and beguiling him with her gaze, turning him against Merrick. However, as Dorin and Prenna recovered, Dorin cast Suggestion, turning one of Calantha's Sahuagin Blademasters against her, which sent her fleeing. The party, exhausted and running low on resources, began to push back and finish off the lesser Sahuagin, and eventually, the Sahuagin Blademaster who Dorin set against Calantha was able to mortally wound her. Without Calantha's help, the Sahuagin began to fight less intelligently and as Dain regained his senses, they managed to corner the last few Sahuagin and finish them off.

As Summer went down to the docks to check Calantha's body, she found her coughing and sputtering. Calantha spit vitriol at Summer, telling her that she should have fed her to the sharks and poured her remains into a vial, and told her to have fun hunting her grandfather, saying she wished she could be there to see the horrors Adamar unleash once he "finds the crystal" and made a vague reference to "grander problems" that were yet to come. As she took her last breaths, Dain moved in to check what equipment she was carrying and took special interest in her trident, identifying it and marveling at the extremely strong enchantment.
