Session 47

The party concludes the Battle of Lost Souls and the Pale Rider informs them that Eldham belongs to the undead now. The party disperses, and first goes to check on Giselle at Eldham's Excellent Elixirs, where they find the shop smoking and several charred bodies outside. They head in and find Alathar Haladar dead from bite marks and the shop burning. Dain attempts to contain the fires with Frost Fingers and then heads into the back, finding the backroom empty. Summer throws open the secret hatch, finding Giselle and her children hiding below. Giselle joins the party as they all head for the Dead Goose Inn.

Upon arriving at the Dead Goose, the party finds the front door wide open and besides a couple bodies in the main area, it seems abandoned. Dain takes some time to find food for Giselle and her children while Summer goes upstairs looking for survivors. She throws open a door and is greeting by Merith -- poised and ready to throw a dagger at her. Merith asks the group what happened and is given the story. Grim volunteers to go to the Messy Cushion to find Reginard and hopefully Chandira, then turns invisible and heads out.

Grim sees the entrance to Chandira's workshop upon approaching, noticing that the glow the portal gives off is red instead of its normal blue hue, and is shimmering. He notices he cannot pass through the entrance. He then hears a commotion from within and kicks his way through the door and sees Chandira lash out with fire, burning several zombies to death and Reginard fighting one off with a bar stool. Chandira then uses a barrier to seal off the pantry to prevent more zombies from getting in through Reginard's secret sewer entrance. Grim instructs them to follow him to the inn and off they go.

The party regroups in the inn and Chandira says she will need to contact the Sorcerer's Cabal to inform them of the situation and request assistance. She says she can make the journey alone, as Grim isn't the only one who can be sneaky, before turning invisible herself and heading out. The rest decide to head for Fort Elden, as they don't believe there's anything more they can do in the city.
