Session 46

The party finishes up in the Catacombs of Blackfrost, finding another mural which depicts the ancient Dwarves of Arak being turned into Ashenfolk by the Voidspawn after having their souls devoured, and then returning home to Reshyk to be shunned and demonized for their appearance. Evaryan says he will stay behind to begin studying the ruins, and tells the party to go back to Eldham with his daughter Ferel to collect the rest of their payment. They regroup topside and head back to Eldham with Ferel.

The party stops at Evaryan's estate first to collect their payment. Afterwards, the party heads to the Temple of Lys to inquire about where they could potentially locate another weapon of Astix' light to combat the Voidspawn, however, the priests there aren't as world aware as the party and don't know what to say, deferring to Belegor, whom immediately recognizes them and looks nervous. The party asks him to contact the Sentinels in Mythwell to inquire about where to search for something to combat the Voidspawn. Summer realizes this is the person who discovered them in his study in their previous visit and attacked them.

Dain makes a pitstop at Eldham's Excellent Elixirs to inform Giselle of his intention to sign over the deed to the shop to her, as it was originally hers. He heads over to the city clerk and fills out the paperwork, returning to Giselle to present her the deed.

The party sets out for Fort Elden where they meet up with Talindra and surprisingly, Tamas and Ronan. Talindra informs the party that Samira arrived a few days ago, and leads them into the main keep to introduce them. Samira greets Sabine and tells the party about her training, about how dangerous it will be -- to them, not Sabine, and that it will take a good deal of time. The group parts ways with Sabine and Talindra informs them that Mara has had another vision. She leads them upstairs to meet with her…

Mara tells the party about her vision, in which she saw what appeared to be an adult version of Sabine exploring some sort of dungeon and the party battling alongside her, and then she saw a skeletal face looming behind Sabine before she collapsed, withering away and appearing zombie-like herself. She said her vision then transitioned to a city where the zombie Sabine was attacking people and destroying the city with terrifying power.

The party travels back to Eldham where a messenger informs them that Garrett Kincade wishes them to join him for the Festival of Renewal at the town square on Lekaren 1 where they will be honored for their part in protecting the Humans from the Paragons of Lys.

During the Festival of Renewal, as Garrett is delivering his speech honoring the party and remembering the events of the past year, fog rolls in and the skies darken before a large lightning bolt strikes outside the city walls. Then, undead begin emerging from the city sewers and attacking folks. The party begins the Battle of Lost Souls.
