Session 4

The party got split up and Mai and Anlon went off to do their own thing. Meanwhile, the rest of the party decided to investigate the red-skinned Goblins that the Emerald Company reported seeing to the south of town.

Party tracked some abnormally large goblinoid footprints to a small cave opening that had a narrow passage leading to a dead-end, but they could see a tiny sliver of light at the bottom of the cave wall. Summer was able to find a slightly recessed piece of the wall that appeared to be a button, and Dain immediately booped it.

Party went into the room with the platform and oil-soaked ground and were attacked by the Firebrand Goblin. They took some hits, but were victorious.

Summer got cocky and barreled down a hallway without paying attention and fell into a 20 ft. pit. The party yanked her out and they decided to go back to the entrance and take the other hallway that was more well-lit. Summer, disoriented from her fall, did not notice a second pit trap in this hallway and promptly pitched forward on the rotating platform, falling onto the feces-covered spikes below. The party yanked her out and then went back to the other hallway and hopped the pit.

Party went into the goblin storeroom where they found a nice stash of gold and gems, food, and Gloves of Missile Snaring.

Party approached the large room with the ballista stealthily and Summer managed to sneak up to the ballista and disarm the rope connected to the trigger, and then aimed it at the unaware Goblins on the other side of the room and pinned one to the wall, killing it instantly. They then attacked the others and were surprised by a Hobgoblin Captain who came charging at them from behind, but despite all the encounters of the night, they demolished him.

Party found the bodies of several townsfolk, merchants from the attacked caravan, and a child. They then searched the Hobgoblin Captain's quarters and found an encoded message they could not read.
