Session 29
General Summary
On their way out of the sewers, the party heard voices approaching and managed to narrowly avoid the group of cultists with the Thaumaturge. They then exited the sewers, where nearby Humans began gagging and nearly vomiting from the stench coming off of Sabine and Anlon, who had climbed down into the waste water to make less sound and sneak past the cultists.
Dain paid a visit to Chandira and had her remove the curse from the Ring of Augury, rendering it useless. While in the process of removing it, Adamar just so happened to be observing and set off a feedback which caused the ring to begin to hum and vibrate violently. However, Chandira managed to cast Remove Curse and de-power the ring before it could detonate.
Dain then asked Chandira about finding a Wizard who could train Sabine, suggesting bringing in someone from Myr, but Chandira said that Myrian Wizards are mostly there to study the native Wellsprings. She promised to ask her contacts at the Sorcerer's Cabal about it and keep in contact. She then gave Dain a Sending Stone so they could keep in touch.
Tamas invented noodles and a spicy teriyaki sauce at Tabitha's.
Mai was approached by a talentless conman who claimed she had a relative named Zarissa who had passed away and left her estate to Mai, and that Mai would need to handle the legal fees in order for the estate to be handed over to her and get her inheritance. Mai quite easily saw through this bullshit and told him to scram.
Katrine approached Summer about the Enforcers' planned false flag attack for the Human holiday of the Festival of Renewal, a Human holiday celebrating their survival of the Grave Rot Plague and welcoming new Human life into the world. Clerics of Lekaris bless the children and the Humans feast. The Enforcers want to disguise themselves and attack other Enforcers who come to the Human quarter under the guise of breaking up the celebration due to the ban on worship of Lekaris so they can have an excuse to attack the Humans there.
Tamas bought 40 Crossbows and bundles of bolts to arm the Humans in the Human quarter for the upcoming false flag attack.
Summer spoke with Garrett and then to a congregation of the Humans in the Human quarter. She convinced about 100 of them to go to Fort Elden to be safe from the upcoming attack. However, 900 Humans would remain in the Human quarter despite the warning of the impending attack. Dain also went to fetch Tesselle, who had gone loopy from her time in the sewers and he had to have Chandira tranquilize Tesselle so she could be moved without issue.
As the party led the caravan of Humans toward Fort Elden, they were ambushed by a party of cultists including the Thaumaturge they avoided in the sewers. They were victorious, but not without difficulty. As he died, the Thaumaturge cursed the party and laughed as he said "I hope those walls can withstand a siege…"
