Session 27

The party finishes taking stock of what repairs need to be done to the fort and heads back to Eldham.

Upon arriving at the Dead Goose, most of the party takes some time to rest. Meanwhile, Dain goes over to the Messy Cushion, noticing posters along the way showing the murdered prostitutes faces, to inform Reginard that the fort has been cleared out and to ask about tradesmen who could do the repairs. Reginard also points out to Dain that Tesselle is going a bit loopy being cooped up in the sewers all by herself and is talking to herself.

Dain also notices the giant gaping hole in the side of the Messy Cushion and discovers Chandira's magic shop. He briefly speaks with her and tells her about Sabine, Adamar, and Rhys. He then leaves saying he will return with the rest of the party.

While everyone is back at the Dead Goose, they overhear people discussing the brutal murder in the Human quarter the previous night and decide to stop at the magic shop first, then investigate the Human quarter. As they are about to leave, two Enforcers enter and proclaim that anyone with information about the missing prostitutes needs to come forward, and at this point, Sabine starts looking very uncomfortable. Dain shields her from view, and after they leave, Sabine begins to sob.

The party chats with Chandira and buys several magic items:

• Tamas buys the Helm of Dread for 120 GP, giving her extra to change the helm into a mask.
• Anlon buys the Immovable Rod for 400 GP.
• Tamas buys the Canteen of Purification for 150 GP.
• Summer buys the Charlatan's Die for 150 GP.
• Group all pitch in and buy the Amulet of Clear Thoughts for 2,500 GP.

Anlon went to the Temple of Lys to inform the bishop there about undead activity in the area, in particular, the Bloodletter Goblins, Giant Skeleton, and Goblin Abomination. The bishop promised to send word to Mythwell for assistance from their Clerics.

The party went to the Human quarter to investigate the reports of a brutal murder. They witnessed a mob of Humans discussing the murders and overheard plans to arm themselves and to form a night watch.

Upon examining the bodies of the first victims of the Paragons of Lys, Summer determined the wounds were caused by eldritch magic.

The party met with Garrett Kincade, the organizer of the Human rebellion, and spoke to him about Fort Elden and suggested sending some of the Human population there so they could be safe from the cult activity, but Garrett was stubborn and said Humans would not want to leave their homes. They also spoke about their plans to arm themselves.

The party entered the sewers after realizing the murders occurred in roughly the same area as where the sewer hatch they used to enter when they fought the Otyugh was located. They explored deeper past the Otyugh battleground and found a side passage to a small room containing an altar and several cultists, who heard Anlon coming.
