Session 23

Dain purchased Giselle's seized herbalism shop and told Giselle, also giving her the Amulet of Disguise so she can disguise herself as an Elf as a precaution. The city clerk Dain purchased the shop from also gave him a voucher for 10% off a purchase of 500 GP or more from any market vendor in the city (one-time use). Dain then found a workman to do repairs on the shop, which cost him 128 GP, and will take two weeks, ending on day 62. Dain also gave Giselle's Elven form the name "Kaylen". The man Reginard will refer Dain to when he goes to hire an herbalist to run the shop front is named Alathar Haladar.

Tamas invented fried chicken and figured he'd sell it from the Dead Goose Inn, charging 5 SP per drumstick.

The party left the inn looking to go train Sabine outside of town so that she could learn to better control her powers. As they were attempting to leave the city, a man in robes approached the party. The party noticed his eyes were tinged with a pink hue, and he told them their interference has gone on long enough and that they were no match for Rhys, let alone Adamar. He then threw open his robes, revealing a metallic device strapped to his chest with a blinking gem in the center. Dain and Summer noticed the device under his robes in time and were able to shield themselves and Sabine. The blast from the bomb strapped to the man's chest killed almost two dozen civilians, but the party was able, through quick medical intervention, to save another dozen who were wounded.

The party moved back to the inn to see if any members of the Emerald Company were around, and as they approached, Kendel hobbled out, looking for the source of the blast, and saw the party. He asked what happened, but after explaining, Kendel quickly dismissed the party's concerns and said they had a bigger problem, and that a gigantic monster had materialized in the Human quarter and was destroying buildings and killing Humans, ignoring non-Humans. The party made their way over to the Human quarter where they arrived just in time to see several Enforcers cleaved in half by the monster's massive sword arm.

The party managed to kill the Goblin Abomination, but not without taking some heavy hits. Dain was nearly killed by a single blow from the creature's massive fist. But in the end, they prevailed. Dain found a Ring of Free Action on one of the creature's massive fingers. They then returned to report back to Kendel, who was speaking to the Emerald Company scholar who offered 250 GP for each new Goblin type whose remains the party recovered for him to study. They paid the party 1,000 GP for felling the beast.

The party settled in for dinner and overheard a conversation some "ladies of the night" were having at a nearby table. Tamas attempted to sweet-talk them into giving him information, but was not nearly as charming as he thought he was and nearly drove the women away. But Anlon chimed in and was able to save face, bribing the women 100 GP for the location of Rhys' home. One of the ladies asked the players to remind Rhys to "bring the horse mask" next time he visits. They gave it and the party decided to plan a raid on his home for that very night, not wanting to pass by the opportunity they may not get again.
