The Alicorn Creation Myth

It is widely believed that the alicorn is the ultimate creator of the cosmos, responsible for the existence of all space and its celestial wonders. According to ancient myths, there were once no distinctions between the unicorn and Pegasus. They existed as a single, divine being—the alicorn—when the universe itself was brought into existence. In contrast, the Pegasus embodies vitality, good health, and the essence of life itself. With this gift, the Pegasus created life and civilisations, breathing existence into the barren worlds shaped by the unicorn and ensuring they flourished with abundance and meaning.   Central to this belief system is the concept of the soul and its eternal journey through the cosmos. Followers hold that every living being has two layers of the soul. The outer soul, or the "physical soul," is the tangible essence that connects a being to the material universe. Upon death, this outer soul disintegrates, transforming into stardust that returns to the vast expanse of space. After lending its aid to Abija, the alicorn underwent a profound transformation, splitting into two distinct beings: the unicorn and the pegasus. This division was not a random act but a deliberate choice, reflecting the dual nature of the universe itself. The unicorn, representing change, fragility, and the raw creative forces of the cosmos, became the guardian of celestial formations, overseeing the creation of stars, planets, and the very fabric of space. Meanwhile, the pegasus, embodying vitality, life, and the nurturing forces of existence, took on the sacred role of fostering life and civilisation on the worlds brought into being.   The timing of this split is often seen as a pivotal moment in the history of the universe, as it signalled a shift in the cosmic order. By separating its powers, the alicorn could allow each aspect of its essence to focus on its respective domain without conflict, enabling the unicorn and the pegasus to collaborate indirectly in maintaining the harmony of the universe.   For Aeldrithius, this division had a profound impact. The unicorn’s influence ensured that the planet was rich in celestial beauty and potential, while the pegasus infused it with the vitality and essence of life, allowing it to flourish as a vibrant, living world. Together, their combined efforts, guided by Abija’s vision, created a planet unlike any other- a world teeming with life, magic, and the intricate interplay of natural forces.   The myth, therefore, serves as both a historical account and a symbolic narrative, reminding the inhabitants of Aeldrithius of their planet’s divine origins and the profound collaboration that brought it into existence. It also emphasises the interconnected roles of change and life, embodied by the unicorn and pegasus, in shaping the universe and ensuring its continual evolution.
