Personal history

Guo’s sinister tendencies were apparent from an early age, casting a long shadow over every aspect of life. Even as a child, Guo displayed an unnerving fascination with cruelty, often subjecting the orn folk to torment. These acts were not borne out of necessity or survival but seemed instead to stem from a desire to exert control and inflict suffering. Guo’s peers learned quickly to avoid becoming the target of this malice, though whispers of fear and disgust followed everywhere.   By the age of 120, Guo’s actions had grown too monstrous for the family to tolerate. Driven to desperation, Guo’s parents made the decision to cast Guo out of their home. Alone and with limited resources, Guo turned to a life of mercenary work to survive. This path suited Guo’s talents, as the dangerous and morally grey nature of the profession offered opportunities to indulge in violence while earning a living. Over the years, Guo developed a reputation as a highly effective but deeply unsettling mercenary, known for completing even the grimmest of tasks without hesitation or remorse.   At the age of 240, Guo’s reputation caught the attention of Mor Luthien . Mor Luthien sought Guo out for a particularly perilous mission: to assassinate Gyala, and to capture Eilis and deliver him alive. The job promised substantial rewards but also presented enormous risks, especially given Gyala’s reputation as a formidable protector. Guo, however, was not one to back down from a challenge, particularly one that promised both wealth and a chance to pit cunning and cruelty against such powerful adversaries.   Though decades have passed since taking on this mission, Guo has yet to fulfil the contract. The task proved far more complicated than anticipated, as Gyala and Eilis disappeared into obscurity, slipping through Guo’s grasp time and time again. Determined to complete the assignment, Guo allied with the Time’s Veil cult, a secretive and malevolent organisation obsessed with manipulating the fabric of time. Through this alliance, Guo gained access to powerful resources and forbidden knowledge, allowing for the tracking of Gyala and Eilis across realms and even through the currents of time itself.   To this day, Guo remains in service to the Time’s Veil cult, working tirelessly to locate the elusive targets. For Guo, the mission has evolved beyond a mere contract; it has become an obsession, a twisted pursuit that feeds the dark hunger within. Every step taken, every spell cast, and every life destroyed in the process serves to bring Guo closer to the ultimate goal, no matter the cost to others- or to the fabric of reality itself.

Morality & Philosophy

At the core of Guo’s belief system lies a singular conviction: the pursuit of power is the only true purpose. To Guo, power is not merely a means to an end but the ultimate measure of worth and existence. This belief stems from an early understanding that might dictates survival and that authority over others provides a shield against vulnerability. Unlike those who seek power to protect or uplift others, Guo desires control for its own sake, revelling in the ability to manipulate the lives of others and shape the world according to personal will.   Guo’s fascination with possession—both of bodies and of knowledge—embodies this philosophy. By taking control of a host, Guo denies others their agency, reducing them to mere tools in a grander scheme. In this act, Guo asserts dominance not only over individuals but over the natural order, defying the boundaries of life and death. This rejection of limits is a defining aspect of Guo’s worldview, as rules, traditions, and societal norms are seen not as guidelines but as obstacles to be overcome.   To Guo, morality is a fluid concept, existing only as a construct that others impose on themselves. Guo views moral frameworks—whether rooted in compassion, justice, or honour—as weaknesses, chains that bind individuals to predictable behaviours and limit their potential. By rejecting such constructs, Guo achieves a level of freedom that allows for actions others might deem monstrous.   However, Guo is not above using morality to manipulate others. Understanding that most beings are bound by ethical codes, Guo skilfully exploits these beliefs to sow discord, gain trust, or provoke emotional reactions. For instance, Guo might feign adherence to a moral cause or appeal to an opponent’s sense of justice to gain an advantage, all the while harbouring no genuine commitment to these principles. This cynical view of morality highlights Guo’s deep understanding of its utility while exposing an utter disregard for its intrinsic value.
